I'm assuming that this is what the new entrance is going to look like. What are your thoughts?

That is what the renderings are going to look like now. My only disappointment is they won't have the LCD screen on top of the entrance like they have done all these years. :(

Well, we know that rendering is wrong because they are keeping the ugly gap in the tower.

I doubt they'll put minor touches such as a TV in the rendering. I believe they've said a couple times there will be many TVs.

If you look closely there is a yellow area above the turnstyles going from end to end. Perhaps this will actually be one large LCD display.

It has been said that there will be a relatively large LCD screen as part of the new entrance. I'm 99.99999% certain that yellow CP banner thing in the new render is exactly that. So don't worry Shawn, they're not completely ruining your hopes and dreams. :) In reality, that old LED screen was outdated and quite small compared to the ones now a days.

Lets pray they put that many trees around the entrance.

Sweet! Thanks Adam, Samurai, and Maverick00. I feel better now that you guys have reassured me of the renderings being a screen. :) And also to Your mom is too fat to ride TTD, I hope your right about the trees as well. Especially since they cut down the smaller ones that used to sit up front.

I though that yellow strip WAS an LCD screen.

And when I'm there next, I'll have to get a photo of the new CP sign, in front of the Gatekeeper, in front of the raptor, in front of the SkyRide in front of the Power Tower, in front of the Dragster. Kind of like this:

I believe that yellow strip ( LED RIBBON BOARD) will be at the main entrance as well. It wouldn't surprise me if the CP sign in the front will also be some type of digital LED display as well. I am really liking the whole limestone look of the ticket/group sales building kinda reminds me of the work outside of PNC Park http://www.paulruschmann.com/images/pnc_park_entrance.jpg
But in general I think this entire project will be a jaw-dropping experience. I'm anxiously waiting to ride this but even more just taking in the whole experience.

I agree about adding tree's but I find it ridiculous the amount of criticism Cedar Point got about the removal of the trees.

You'd think they were 3,000 year old Sequoias or something.

Well, when you've been going to the park as long as some people here, you seem to get attached to every aspect of the park. Those trees are like family to them. ;)

Hmmm...is that pink blob a flower bed on the island?

That'd be cool if they incorporated some modern LED fountains right there.

Overall though, this should be awesome.

I was thinking the same thing, I'd much rather see a fountain.

No offense, but what was special about the LCD screen? I never paid attention to it last year, but knew it was there. I was always too excited to get into the park to really watch the screen....

I agree with Miss Maverick on this one. Plus the system they use is pretty fast now so its not like the TVs are needed.
