One blanket is going to be removed tomorrow in preparation to install the first keyhole on FRIDAY, FRIDAY, GOTTA GET DOWN ON FRIDAY!!!
This is from today's blog. I love how she added the FRIDAY, FRIDAY, at the end of her paragraph about the keyhole towers. Most importantly though is the fact that they will begin erecting the keyholes starting FRIDAY! :)

No trees were harmed in the sending of this message, but a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.
It looks as though that's only one half of one of the keyhole towers (see this image).
I suspect they'll install one half of each tower, then attach the track, then attach the other half of each tower. This method removes the need to "thread the needle", so to speak.
Perhaps Jeff is able to provide some clarification, since he's seen them up close.

That makes sense. A lot of people were asking about that but that is probably how they will do it. If that is true I am guessing the top half of the keyhole won't be a support, but the track flips upside down inside the keyhole which makes me think the top of the keyhole is a support too
Looking from the parking lot, it appears that the keyhole to the left will also have a white tube support inside the park that will connect to the keyhole in two connections for the track support on the return trip as you fly heading into that tower and then flips and is attached directly to the outside of the keyhole support to the right. That should be a crazy awesome ride.
It also appears that by the drawings, that the concrete bases and towers will be clad in an aluminum panel. That should look very clean and last a long time. Can not wait to see what they do with the towers in future years....creativity abounds in my mind.
Sorry for the mess. Signature under construction.
Just because conditions seem fine to you doesn't mean they don't have alternative reasons or the weather is different on the peninsula than the actual town of Sandusky (you know, because of the lake and bay). The point is, they're not installing them for a reason. Be it weather, equipment or crane operator reasons.
