I agree. Some newer slides - and perhaps a water coaster - would make Soak City a much better water park. Now that they have that room to expand where Challenge Park was, hopefully we'll see it progressing next year.

A complex with some high thrilling slides AND one or two water coasters would be fantastic. Atlantis has a mixture of water coasters and slides in one complex.

For the future of Soak City, I could possibly forsee a future water coaster launch station starting around the current start point of the go karts and launching underneath the Magnum supports (where the go karts travel now, due west toward Ripcord) and returning (out and back) underneath those same supports. This would be a great spot for one, IMO.

Also a 2nd wave pool (the current one gets VERY crowded in July!) or even one of those big TOP looking things (where you go around in the inside) and get flushed out...(sorry, don't know what they're called, haha), would be a good fit in the current location of the Challenge Golf course. Just my 2c.

Half of me would love it if Cedar Point developed the back of the park where the cabins are with more rides. The other half knows that it's never gunna happen.

I like your idea dude. They need a water coaster like Wildebeest from Holiday World. That's something the whole family could enjoy! Also Kings Island is adding slides this year where you cross your arms, and the floor drops from underneath you. That would bring back the speed slide aspect that the previous poster talked about.

I think 2017's focus will be both Soak City and a dark ride. And for those who think that's too much spending, might I remind you Carowinds is doing the same for next year with their water park and Plants/Zombies (granted, not a true dark ride but still a large addition) the year after their major $30 million giga.

I believe they said somewhere that those are for 2017, but I could be wrong.

Anything that is high in thrill is good for me. Soak City needs something that will pack a good punch.

I would like to see some more thrilling flat rides like Sky Hawk or Maxair. Granted, I'm not sure what else is out there that isn't similar to what the park has already, but I'm sure there are some! Possibly something like sledgehammer at Canada's wonderland but I hear it has awful down time. Something that doesn't charge an extra fee would be nice too ;)

I'm hoping for a Zamperla Air Race. Those things look amazing, and the park already got one ride from Zamperla.

Maybe post your ideas here in this thread.

I know some of our posts on here get read, maybe the park will listen.

I wouldn't be shocked if CP gets a coaster in 2017. According to Tony Clark's tweet from last year, I interpreted his tweet as a new coaster for 2016, 2017, and 2020.

So far, we've got Valravn for 2016. Add another one in '17, '18, or '19, CP has 19 coasters. Then, CP will undoubtedly get their 20th coaster in 2020 for their 150th anniversary.

BUT IN THE MEANTIME... another park might get the next BIG coaster in 2017. Maybe Kings Island? They don't have a Giga yet. Not saying each park could get something big (2000 was big for KI and CP). But anyway, check out this picture of Rob Decker with blueprints for Kings Island. Any time Rob Decker's involved, there seems to be a new coaster ahead.

Back in 2000 though, Kings Island wasn't owned by Cedar Fair.

It looks like the obvious areas of focus for 2017 are most likely Soak City and the Shoot the Rapids location. This year Carrowinds is doing a water park upgrade and a dark ride. A lot of the times the Cedar Fair parks do similar additions and follow a pattern (adding things like pendulums, pipe screams, lake erie eagles, etc). My thoughts would be the obvious, at minimum a Soak City refurb... new entrance, new attraction(s), paint and remodel existing rides, new restaurants?, shops?, etc. But also the well deserved dark ride. I personally would like to see it on Millenium island maybe within the over banked hill/helix area and it can be themed like a tropical island type thing vs pirates and sea creatures. I would really like to see the island develop because it has great potential. All the trees would keep the ride secluded and not make it stick out like a sore thumb (Disaster transport). As for the Shoot the Rapids location, I'm sure there will be some sort of family area there with a flat ride or two and maybe a small coaster. This may come in at a later date though. RMC for mean streak could also be announced next season, but won't open until 2018 or beyond

I'd like to see a coaster like Backlot Stunt Coaster go in the STR location.
