Not to confuse you more, Ensign, but I think that I'm maXair. ;)
My favorite sounds...wow, there are several of them. The sound of maXair swinging up to its highest point, WT's launch (I love how it sounds like a scream), Mantis coming off the lift and going down the first drop, Skyhawk's screech as the brakes kick it, Demon Drop's constant rattle...the list goes on and on. Matter of fact, there aren't many sounds at CP that I don't like.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
I love the screech as TTD and WT take off, and the sound of power tower launching up....love those sounds!:)
The sound of Maggie's lift chain and the clacking/ripping sound as the train falls down the 1st hill. I especially love this sound while sipping my favorite beverage from camper village. Oh yes, and the trims before the pretzel turn and the roaring sound of Maggie from CV too. :) I love ALL the sounds of CP you all have described as well. I like the idea of an earlier post of creating a collection to listen to during the looooooooong off season. :( ENJOY, only 4 more weekends left! :(
^^ I completely forgot about the rush of air as the cylinders charge on PT. That's another one of my favorite sounds.
Goodbye MrScott

The deep rumble of Top Thrill Dragster's launch when you are farther away. :)
The distinct tone that Magnum's lift makes is always the first thing I hear. I <3 it.
The thump Power Tower makes when the red side begins to be pushed down. Perfect I tell you!
I like to hear the lake swooshing on the beach, waverunners in the background and the splatter the Mushroom in Breaker's pool makes combined. Heck, add a Power Tower swoosh and some Disaster Transport rumble.
It's funny, all of these except one are things I heard as a small kid staying at Breaker's.
Almost everything listed here I like. I like the shaky sound Demon Drop makes as it drops.
The list goes on.
Summer was made for a Cedar Point day~
The wind rippling through the banners in front of the main gates.
The National Anthem to start the day.
The clunk of the skyride as the gondola drops onto the cable.
Any song sung and performed at Johnny Rockets.
The rickety clank of Wildcat.
The sound of Corkscrew passing overhead.
The gunshots on the CP&LE.
My author website: mgrantroberts.com.
Favorite sounds:
MS banging its way up the lift after being stopped (yes, it's supposed to do that)
Magnum's lift hill and the clicking at the crest
the horn blaring when MS starts (I feel like I should be on Safari)
Stayin' Alive at Johnny Rockets
total silence in the park really, really early in the morning
Sounds I will be happy to never hear again:
piano music in Boneville (behind Stockade)
the whoosh of Skyhawk as it stops you midswing at the end (the umm...no...get off moment)

Some people merely follow their dreams. Others hunt them down and mercilessly beat them into submission.
Anybody notice how garbled TTDs Keep arms down, head back and hold speal is, you can hardly hear its like those big speakers are getting worn out or something, was there this past weekend and noticed it.
No offense, but I believe that was pointed out awhile ago. The speakers do indeed seem to be rather dull and quiet these days, all over the park from my experience. It would be nice if they could replace the speakers that seem to be degrading in quality/quantity if that's even the case, although I wouldn't count on it any time soon. What with their most recent, um, $21 million expenditure.
I was just messing around looking through the rides section and found this video. This is an awesome production which includes exactly what I think we are all looking for regarding sounds of CP. It is detailed very well with all of the clinks and clunks of this old Intamin machine. I would love to see more of the rides captured this way on the site. Another of my favorite sounds it the Witches Wheel when the hydrolics kick in for the lift. Love the mechanics and the sounds of hydrolics (sp?).
Blue people fly sideways when it rains
That was one of the goals with that video. I like videos where the ride speaks for itself. Cedar Point's "natural" soundtrack is better than any music I could have put over that.
I wish I would have done more of that this summer.
Magnum's lift, of course! Especially the first test train on opening day!
Another favorite just started this season with the HalloWeekends park music. Hearing TSO playing at CP is just AWESOME!!!
The sound of Magnum's lift is great, as is the screech of Wicked Twister's launch. I also like how Dragsters Launch sounds like the Death Star when it shoots its death ray.
My favorite sound is the ttd launch! I also love the Mantis roar, the skyhawk skreech, the mean streak, and of course the train whistle.

Hearing "Ready to Go" while waiting for TTD. I enjoy it.
The sound of screaming on any coaster.
Any song playing on the midways as I'm walking around.
That's all I can think of.

I really miss that deep "VROOOOOOOOOOOOM" that is part of the TTD sound effects. I guess it's still there, but you used to be able to hear it from almost everywhere in the park. Damn Cedar Point's inablility to maintain theming.
Hail to the Victors
-Magnum going up the lift...no other coaster sounds like it.
-Hearing the Beach Boys in Soak City.
-Passing threw Kiddy Kindom and hearing the annoying truck horns.
-Walking by any arcade and hearing the Zipo gingle.

I have one for least favorite.:)
The loud speakers on Dragster (located by the ramp) when the announcement comes up for downtime. That thing is unbelievably loud (though it depends on whoever comes up on it). You could probably hear it from Mean Streak.....no kidding!!
Mark will vouch for me on this.
