Dragster cable snaps

I saw about 10 people walking into the first section of the line so I definiatly think that TTD is back open.
Do they still have all of the themeing on? Or did they take off all of the goodyear tires?

I Now think TTD is open, it looks like it on the webcams from CP.

kudos to cp on the very hard work to get this thing running again in what seems like lightspeed...if this happened at any six flags park, i could guarentee you that the ride would be down for weeks maybe months
I just got back from the point. I got there Monday for the twilight and was also in the park on Tuesday. I walked past just after the cable snapped and they were already ripping things apart. I understand these things happen and those guys seemed to work on it all night. I asked one of the maintenance guys on Monday if they would have it open on Tuesday and he just shook his head no. I was bummed but I have to admit they tried their best to get it open ASAP. My 4 spins on MF and multiple rides on everything else will just have to do until the end of August. :)

BTW- the park was empty on from 5-10pm on monday. Went on 10 different coasters and had time for more but couldn't take anymore after the long drive from Boston.

Yay i am glad we got thru that disaster in the same CP timely manor as everything else. Next time you see a maintence(sp?) Worker give them a hand for fixing this ride so fast.

Yeah, like SFMM did for X. They had to declare it SBNO. Thumbs up to Cedar Point for this quick fix.

Right. And the problem that occured with TTD was just as bad as SFMM had with X. Congrats to CP on such a fine job, but you're comparing apples and oranges with that one, bro...

LOL. The breakers webcam looks just like the cgi pic the park made of TTD a while back..

Ah, just got off it. They opened at about 7 if I recall correctly.

I saw the trains moving around in the station as I was on PT and ran over and got into the line for TTD. It was only about a 45min wait until I got on. Great ride, amazing work by everybody that worked to get TTD up and running that fast!

Oh, and about the Webcam, I was wrong, the new location is a little better, the first I looked at the cam it was dark outside so I was a little confused about what I saw....

GREAT JOB, by the Park is getting the ride back up so quickly. Always continue to amaze! It's the things like getting Dragster back up so quickly that seperate CP from the rest of the pack. WELL DONE!

No Tower lights, I think they had 3 sets of them up, however they were not lighting up. I'm guessing they wiill all be up and working soon.

I'm going out there friday, seeing how you live about 5 houses down from me, I could prolly get ya a ride man. lol

I got in line a few minutes after they opened it and only waited about a half hour. And no the tower lights weren't working.

Yeah, Nobody I was with had a watch, so I was just kinda guessing the wait time... We really only knew it was 3:30 when we got to the park and 8:15 when we left. To tell you the truth, I could care less what time it was or how long I waited for TTD. I knew it was a short wait, and well worth every minute of it, just like the 2 times before when I rode...

It's so fun to just go there and not worry about anything, I knew TTD would be the last thing I rode, and sure enough it was, and we got off it right as the park was closing.

One a unrelated side note, anybdoy know why MF was closed for part of today?

Hey all, i'm headin up to Cedar Point tomorrow (5/29) and was just wondering if TTD will be operating at all? Any info is greatly appreciated!

Ah, not to rip on you, but have you been paying any attention to this thread??? After reading it I can determine that TTD is open again after the cable snapping. As for tomorrow barring breakdowns, more snapping cables (Sarcasm) it should be running. If not check the magic 8 ball. :)

Voodoo, I was on the ramp for MF when it went down. The maintenence crew kept climbing the first hill inspecting and trying to fix a problem with the lift. Test runs appeared ok but they eventually closed it. They reopened a few hours later
First of all, let me just give credit where credit is due! I know the higher-ups from CP read this stuff, so I just want to say thanks! You guys deserve your number one ranking in the world by far. Not to many parks would open an attraction 20 minutes before the park closes. This is not even mentioning the fact that you opened it then and received somewhere around a four-hour line.

I was one of the many sitting on the ground and waiting for it to reopen. They never said it would reopen or anything. It was basically as said a "wishful thinking" line. We had ridden everything else and Millennium had went down so what else was there to do but sit and wait for something to happen? So me and my friend sat down there by Dragster and made our time useful. It paid off because at 7:40, we were on the third train out of the day! They worked and worked, and instead of waiting until tomorrow they went ahead and opened it with 20 minutes until closing! Who else would do this?

Yes, Channel 3 was there. They taped the line and some of the multiple test runs that seemed to come in large packs in hour intervals for four hours. (Yes, the beginning of that line waited 4 hours hoping the ride would open.)

And to end this, that was the most thrilling 17 seconds of my life! Great job Cedar Point and Intiman! I'd take that launch and tophat over Millennium's overbanks anyday now!

Glad to hear the ride reopened so quickly. When they did get the ride back open, how many trains were running? Also, are the tires still on vacation?
