Dragster cable snaps

So that has to mean that it will reopen tomorrow. Oh happy day!

I was at the park tonight and noticed a couple of things. It does look like they had the new cable run. But, it was still hanging with quite a bit of slack...not at all tight. The other thing that I couldn't help but notice was the crane next to the beginning of the launch. It looked like it was holding up quite a large, long piece of what I assume is part of the launch mechanism. It looked like all of the trains were on the track and non of the fins are on the trains. This was all at about 6:15ish.

Give the Park it's due credit. It seems to me, based solely on reports from people here, that the Park is going ALL OUT to get this bad boy up and running again. Excellent work by the Park! They always amaze me.

Yea, its amazing how fast they are getting this thing up. If this happened at six flags, The ride wouldnt go up for months.

A lot of you guys are saying that MF's cable snapped in 2000, but I'm almost certain that it was late 2001 during Millennium Mania (that turned into VertiGo Mania). They tried to make it through two whole seasons with the same wire, but it fell short by a few weeks.

If the same kind of wear and tear was applied to this wire, it might break this season...hopefully they can get through the whole year without that happening.

Channel 3 news here in Cleveland reported that the ride should reopen tomorrow afternoon. :)

I don't want to start a whole new post for this but... I think it is really dumb to put a rumer on this site saying dragster is gonna be shut down the rest of this season! It totaly is not true! They had not one thing about the ride being shut down on the news! Who ever starts these rumers can go down under-ground if you know what I mean! Cedar Point... 2 thumbs up on how you have been handling these problams with the ride and getting it up and going again!

Well, I don't know MiLLeNNiuMRiDeR, mayby RC Junky could use a d-i-c-t-i-o-n-a-r-y. PLEASE!!!

Anyway, I'm glad that they're fixing this promptly and I hope that they get all the theming fixed, just so this ride's theming doesn't go the way of Disastor Transport. I'll be there the week of June 15th also and I'm hoping that it's up then. Apparently I was very lucky to be on Wicked Twister at this same time last year??

At least I'm not to blame for TTD!! I was nowhere near it!!!! :)

It must be a holiday thing, since it was over Labor Day weekend in 2001 when MF cable snapped.

It looks like theres only one train on the transfer tracks and you can see maintenence people all over the place so i hope they are testing the ride and gonna have it open today, my schools going up!

EDIT: looking at the webcams, they just moved cam 2~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now its looking out onto the midway!

I don't like the new location of that web cam, now you can't see anything. Before you could at least see inside the station to tell if it was running.

No more pictures of people posing in the corner of that building. (dang) ;)
