I understand all those things. I'm just very bitter towards Intamin and I understand why B&M branched off from them.
I can understand being wary of Intamin, in light of their prototype launchers, but overall they are a pretty successful company that produces exciting innovative attractions.
Why not direct your bitterness toward CP? After all, they are the ones who chose to build WT & TTD, knowing full well that these were unproven technologies. I'm not saying you should blame CP, but its equally valid as blaming Intamin at this point.

You said it yourself. Under proper care. Intamin isn't taking care of the ride anymore, and hasn't since all the bugs were worked out opening year. As I said before, the ride is under the care of Cedar Fair.
Not to mention, who says that Intamin manufactured that shaft? Most likely they had it built by a specialty company, so wouldn't the fault then fall on the shaft manufacturer?

No. Intamin is the one who was contracted to build the ride, regardless of what they subcontract out, it is still on them to deliver a final working product.

Back in 2000 my wife and I made an unplanned trip to CP after a Friday night wedding in Pittsburgh. What we didn't know was that MF was hit by lightning twice that night and fried one of the motherboards (we found out after checking in at Breakers). Even though both of us were bummed, we actually went and did things that are normally not on our plans-i.e. we wnt to Soak City, miniture golf, some smaller rides. Being a Saturday night, the park was open till midnight, so we figured that we could some of the bigger rides later at night when the lines are shorter (especially on a Saturday night).
I grabbed a beer at the Red Garter and noticed that there was activity on the platform. So my wife and I went and got into line. While in line we found out that a CP exec went to Germany to pick one up. Well making a longer story shorter, the ride did open up (we got 3 rides in 45 minutes) and CP kept the ride running till about 2:00am.
The point of this being- CP is willing to do anything they can to get a ride running safely.
Beer and golf Thursday thru Monday, Cedar Point & beer, Tuesday and Wednesday.

And a final working product they delivered. It's been working for 6 years. I was just countering his logic. As it's been said already, we really can't point fingers without knowing the exact problem. I'm just tired of people jumping on the "I hate Intamin" bandwagon whenever even something little happens.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those huge Intamin-can-do-no-wrong fanboys, but they are a successful company and have been doing pretty well for themselves lately, plus they do build a damn good ride, so I gotta give them some credit.

Millennium I don't tend to blame Intamin for as much because its been operating successfully for a number of years without major problems. Stuff that happens now is called wearing out.
The Yellow and Red Monstrosity across the park however is still their fault.

I'm not fresh off the bus and just now not liking Intamin.
I started getting a bad taste in my mouth when the cable broke on MF, the track cracked on WT, the transformer blew on WT, I waited in line for 4 hours opening year for TTD, Kingda Ka broke while waiting in line, KK broke before my 3 day trip to Jersey last year and this year. (BTW, I did not get to ride it this past weekend while on the east coast, broken again) The countless times I have been stuck over 10 minutes on Demon Drop.
I've been on the wagon since I was like 9 and being stuck scared out of my mind at the top of DD.
Lets not forget the Superman death and the Intamin free fall that fell back down the lift shaft and on top of a car.
I'm not going to speculate anymore that the new ride will have problems, but I will stand by what I say about the rides that currently exist.
While your comments about the Intamin launch coasters are correct, the blame could also be slightly misplaced. The parks that choose to install these rides should take some of the blame as well.
And there are other ride manufacturers with far worse resumes.

True, however I am under the impression Cedar Point signed a 3 coaster deal with MF, WT and TTD. Who knew at the time that this would turn into a disaster with 2 of the 3?
If the new Intamin becomes a paper weight like TTD. Then I will be very upset with Cedar Fair.
Six Flags had time to see what TTD was doing and pressed on anyway. So I blame Six Flags in that case.
I sincerely hope the new Intamin is not a launched coaster, and while it would seem illogical that it would be, some things suggest it just might. Time will tell, I suppose.
I don't think that SF had time to see what was happening with TTD. It seems as if they saw what CP was building, called Intamin and told them to design a bigger, faster version of it. After all, it takes a couple years to get everything worked out, even when the design is 90% complete. Since TTD was being built in 2002-2003, SF would have had to start planning for KK no later than 2003, it would seem. So, they may have been able to see a few hiccups in TTD's operation, but not the true nature of the beast.

imo, TTD, MF & WT are all in the top 5 of Cedar Point´s coasters. I wouldn´t go as far as calling any of them disasters. But of course, they have all been working well on my visits to the park. In the past few years, Intamin has build some great coasters in Europe, that are all working fine (Expedition GForce, Goliath, Collossus, Kanonen).

Let's not forget that the "intamin" freefalls weren't anything but brokered by Intamin. They are actually Giovanola rides. Disaster Transport is a decent example of this as well, as is Flashback at SFMM and some of the early stand-ups.
