Have you been on both Shiekra and Griffon? If so, which did you prefer?
I personally prefer Griffon. Neither are particularly exciting after the initial drop, especially if you don't get a front-edge seat, but Griffon has got to be the smoothest coaster I've ever been on. It's like gliding on air.

I'm planning my first trip to Holiday World this summer. What's wrong with the Voyage? It looks like a perfectly fun ride. :/
Are you going during HoliWood nights? If so, I'll see you there! My name is the same a my screen name by the way. Voyage is a kick butt roller coaster! During HoliWood Nights, I rode it like 10 straight times in the dark and then had to sit down because I had a headache. Don't get me wrong, it was well worth it, but I couldn't go past 10 straight rides. My friend who I went with, rode it like 30+ times! I'm going to try this year to try and get close to that this year. As much as I love Voyage, THE BEAST is still my favorite wooden roller coaster!
I'm with Shawn -- The Beast is the best, but Voyage is a great ride. I've never had a problem taking multiple rides on Voyage.
Hey, maybe this dive coaster is the rest of the story that the phantom/reaper mentioned in Gatekeeper's announcement. Gatekeeper flies over the main entrance and Project 2016 will fly over the marina entrance. Boom, mystery solved. 😜

Answered with speculation about speculation. No one knows if any possible coaster will go over, under or near the marina gate, or if there even will be a coaster.Until CP announces something, speculating that a coaster will go under an entrance walkway is as valid as anything.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I am not. :(
I'm traveling there after a wedding in Cincinnati I have to attend.
All the more reason to come to the Fall Affair at Holiday World at the end of August! Details forthcoming...

What did the phantom/reaper say again?
"Wait, you're not telling the whole story", then his mic was cut off.

The details about the Dive coaster and such are all public record thanks to a former government official folks. Seriously. The only problem is that she used her personal email and doesn't want to share.

Hopefully sometime between the 20th and 24th?
Yeah, yeah...details forthcoming.
Wasn't it Jeff that said the phantom getting cut off was just a shoddy opening production and nothing to do with any future projects?
Fall Affair will be Saturday, August 28, at Holiday World.

Ugh, seriously? Still hanging on to that? Put it in the context of being there. The recording didn't start from the beginning, where it was supposed to cut off John talking about the new entrance. Apparently it was on repeat, or the operator was smoking something, and he or she restarted it at the end. I really can't believe that almost three years later people are trying to validate the idea that the park was going to stage some other announcement detail then said "just kidding!" at the last minute.

The Voyage is, by far, my favorite roller coaster. While I was able to ride it at least 15 times on each of 2 visits I made last year, I will say it's not for everyone. My partner was done after 10 rides. I can see people only being able to ride it once, ever, but that also makes it nice for those of us who love it because it helps keep the line shorter. Riding it WAS like a religious experience to me since I found it to be exciting from start to finish, every time I rode it. I can't wait to go back! Hopefully, the line will be even shorter with Thunderbird opening.
"makes it nice for those of us who love it because it helps keep the line shorter" is exactly the reason that Gatekeeper was a much better investment for CP than Voyage would have been. For that reason, I also doubt it was Holiday World's best investment decision.

Before Will passed, he generally stated that investment in the water park is what made the most sense. But those big coasters obviously do quite a bit to put them on the map.
