Another memo from the Sandusky Register. Remember, this is how we first learned about Gatekeeper.

That "article" is barely intelligible. There's no attribution, and the summary isn't even a complete sentence.

Well,... It is the Register. Where they must employ high school journalism students, I swear.
"...simulates being in a Bomber that is diving straight down at breakneck speeds." Ha!
I kind of hope this isn't the case, only because I think those coasters are most effective when they go underground. Something we don't (or can't) see at Cedar Point.
I suppose the oncoming speculation will imagine the first big drop leading to a pass under the perimeter road allowing the coaster to perform stunts while completing the circuit in the space formerly occupied by the Cedars dorm. Which we're about to lose any day now.
Meh, we'll see.
I hope its not the case as well. Dive coasters are gimmicky/

No trees were harmed in the sending of this message, but a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.
Clearly still in the "hard to believe rumor" ballpark, but I would adore this.
Griffon at Busch Gardens Williamsburg is a wonderful ride, and it does not go underground. I'm not sure I really want to specualte too much at this point (since this seems a little sketchy to me), but this would be a welcome addition in my opinion.
Take a look at that comment section. :) Ugh.
Promoter of fog.
I see that article saying a "memo" from B&M, but does it say anywhere that this is a memo between B&M and Cedar Fair? Didn't a park in Europe or Asia announce a dive coaster for 2015, and that could be what this memo is about?

In the past, the Register has turned out to be pretty accurate whenever it posts supposed memos or leaks.
If this does turn out to be true, this could end up being a solid coaster to the park's lineup. While $15 million may not seem like a lot in major coaster standards, in comparison Oblivion was $12 when it was built, Sheikra was $13.5 mil, and Griffon was $15.6 mil.

I agree. I would love a dive coaster. Griffon is awesome
I've only been on Sheikra, but I dig it. That it doesn't go underground doesn't matter. They're big rides with high capcity and fantastic drops. Good times.

That area is quite ripe for a dive coaster actually. The majority of the layout after the drop will fit quite nicely where cedars stands today with the lift hill starting in the location of the former Good Times Theater. I envision of course a record breaking Dive Coaster thats at least 350 feet tall but with an insane beyond verticle drop which could be a first in the B&M Dive coaster family.
