Tony was very emphatic about the "you will want to be here next year." He didn't just state it matter of factly. Though bear in mind this was a year ago, so what he thought he might divluge might no longer be divulgable for whatever reasons.
Or maybe Tony was simply referring to the Rougarou project.

I think the question of the stadium needs to be considered with something else in mind.
The stage setup for All Wheels Extreme is....functional. But like every show that has been held there-including the dophin show, it isn't ideal.
Does that show require the stadium to be performed? Likely not, though a proper replacement venue would be needed. Given the show is well attended the seating capacity logically has to be on-par. And you almost certainly would want a venue able to support more than one type of show.
Plus I keep coming back to the beach parties last season. Could taking out the existing stadium and creating a more open venue lend itself toward supporting daytime shows and night-time concerts, parties, etc? Sure.
Anyway, worthy of another thread.

The Poler Coaster itself isn't 200 million, I think that is the price tag of the entire project. The Poler Coaster tower and ride is well within the price range of something that CP could do.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I would just like for any type of entertainment venue/activity that is open past 8pm on point.
Beach party, nightclub, after hours pool bar, or something in the new lakeside pavilion.
If a hideous poled-coaster would be built I would hope it would incorporate something like this and possibly be used outside of the regular season.

As dippy and limited as such rides are in capacity and overall appeal, I'd say they ought to build one off-point as an off-season attraction.
But this does bring up the thought of what could be done to enhance CP's off-season operations. But that would literally require temporary tunnels from Breakers East to the Grand Pav, then from there to the Colosseum, which in-turn would need heat for the winter.
That said, the convention space would be enough to possibly have the hotel open on some level.
One can dream.

Although not exact layouts here are two fan made videos on YouTube. I'm going to be honest and say I would hate if they changed MS as much as the video did. If they ever redo it I say change the track but keep the layouts. As for the dive coaster it seems very compact. Of course these are just made by people with too much time but if CP does take either route I may not be as excited as I could be. But that's not to say I'm going to hate what they do because I generally end up loving whatever it is anyway.

Note: Only after posting this did I realize that the Meanstreak Video was in another thread.
^ Do not keep the same layout. The Mean Streak layout is awful.
That revamped coaster everyone is posting about could potentially be the best in the park. It looked amazing. The only negative is lack of MCBR, Cedar Point needs to keep the capacity up.
Well I atleast enjoy the layout. Also I'm 99% Meanstreak has a MCBR... Unless they are just trim breaks to slow the train down which is possible.
I find Mean Streak to be an extremely visually attractive coaster. I mostly attribute that to its height all the way around its course and it's thick wooden structure. RMC would most likely make a lot of it shorter(height) in most places. I think that would detract from its beauty, maybe that is just me though. However, it would most likely make it a better ride. I'm actually unsure of wether I would be willing to sacrifice that beauty for a stronger ride, but I am not the one that makes decisions for the park so I really have no say in it. And if this is the RMC recreation that everyone has been talking about, I only have one real gripe besides what I have previously said. That huge dive loop or whatever RMC calls it looks totally out of place IMO.
Personally, I hate the idea of a Poler Coaster. Yea, it would go into the skyline but to me it just looks like a bad piece of twisted metal. Now back on topic (kinda) I would like to see a dive coaster at CP but I would rather have RMC to Mean Streak instead.
If a dive coaster is indeed coming to the point then I would suspect that it would be an addition for the 2017 season if not 2018.Think about it, the swans were removed in 2003, and WWL was removed in 2005 before Maverick was finally opened in 2007. They remove GTT this year, maybe remove the cedars and Turnpike cars in the next few years.
^ Yes, but that was under different management. Ever since Ouimet has come, it seems like they don't waste any time with deconstruction/construction: Disaster Transport - Gatekeeper, construction for Gemini midway, Hotel Breakers, painting Mantis/Rougarou, prep work for Rougarou, and now whatever is going on with the GTT and BS areas. I can tell Ouimet doesn't like to waste time.
