If nobody has seen it yet, coaster-net recently released a video on Youtube speculating on the Point's five year plan. I will say that some of their ideas are a little outlandish and I'm sure they know that, but they bring up a lot of good ideas in my opinion. Their idea of what Cedar Point has in store is pretty close to what I think they should do and I think it does seem quite possible. Rougarou, a dive coaster, a trio-tech dark ride, and a RMC Mean Streak conversion all have relatively low price tags considering the costs of Cedar Fair's recent major projects.
I need to start making those videos, as clearly people like to indulge in just making stuff up.

I really enjoy talking about what could be. Even if it will likely never happen. In my mind, I enjoy speculating more then actually watching a coaster be built. This video seems quite more realistic to me than any others I have seen though. But I don't see the 20 coasters by 2020 thing to be happening at all. That was just an idea they brought up. Which would be a really cool marketing ploy but the chances of that are just about as slim as they could be.

And then bitching about whatever actually happens. Don't forget that part.

I don't think that's fair. I'm not one to complain about anything. Cedar Point does what they need to and that is what makes them a strong park. Just because there are some people who are strongly opinionated and complain doesn't mean everyone does when they don't get what they personally want. I just enjoy speculating. So what if it's not what I wanted.

For someone who runs a couple social sites, I'm fascinated by how irked you get at human nature.
@CoasterCam, i watched that coaster-net video after you mentioned it and i agree they did make a lot of good points. Some i agreed with and some i disagreed with, but it seems that this video is a lot more realiable i wanna say then most of those types of videos. It was enjoyable to watch. But one thing that they kept mentioning in their video was that Calypso seemed to be missing or at least looked like it was missing? I dont remember us discussing that on a thread. Maybe we did and i just didn't see it. But i just wanted to see if that was true.

Those guys seem pleasant enough, and they may have sensible heads on their shoulders, but really. Less is more.
After 20 minutes of that 1.5 hour 'show' I just couldn't hang.
Plus, these vids are just regurgitations of rumors we've all heard put in blah blah blah form. It's ok to speculate, I guess, (I do my share of dreaming) but once said is enough. I enjoy the suspense of not knowing.
I would say it trailed off at about 40 minutes but I agree with you. I just thought it did a good job of summing up a lot of ideas as a whole.

Or maybe I'm just a lot more clever than you give me credit for.
More likely, you just read way too far into what I post.

Low price tags? It's still a substantial cost, the park isn't shopping at Walmart.
Maybe that's where they got Dragster......because, you know....... of the roll back prices.

That's a good one. I'm not saying they are cheap, heavens no! I am just saying that Cedar Fair has spent way more on some of their recent investments. I meant low price tags for Cedar Fair's standards. The prices of those rides are "relatively" lower.
I was curious about the Calypso being gone too. It was likely just wrong information.
I immediately checked the web cams but you cant see Calypso from the angle. I guess we'll just have to wait

See thats what I thought. And this was mentioned in the coaster-net video. Why are they doing all of this work so early? If a coaster is to be built there for 2016 is it really necessary to do all of this work so early? I mean for gatekeeper they didn't start demolishion until what August. And it seems like project 2013 had way more work to be done then project 2016 seems to need.

The other Webcam does not point at the Goodtime Theater anymore. Did they demolish all of it, and they don't want people to see it?
Another thing that was mentioned in that video was that at the last Winter Chillout they said that you would not want to miss the next one in 2015. Did they actually say something like this and if they did was it just to try to get people to come back? Or does anyone think it is legit that they will tease something?
