30 feet won't do much. Not my people will feel the difference.

I would think a coaster increasing its height from 63' to 93' (approx. 50% increase) would make a pretty huge difference in the ride experience. They'd probably have to redesign several parts of the ride to accomodate such a change. Especially in the case of a bobsled...

I just thought of something today! What if you sold both Demon Drop And Disaster Transport? There is so much room there that you could fit a good size rollercoaster in there. And who knows maybe they'll send Disaster Transport to Michigan Adventures after the 06 season to make room for a new coaster in 2007. Demon Drop If anyone does buy it, I"ll be shocked because not a lot of parks are in the market that want to buy a ride like this. Especially Six Flags, they're more worried about finding a new owner for them. They probably lost a lot of money with Hurricane Katrina Hitting one of their parks. I'm more worried about the people down there though then the park.

Dude I'm not talking about DT. I'm talking about DD. That's what the thread it about. Plus you can't take DT and make it taller. It needs a whole new design because is way different.

I'd be content with a screaming squirrel there...while it's got to be a capacity nightmare, it would be hella fun. Take out DT as well, throw in something like a flyswatter or a Mouse or something and it would be a huge improvement...then again most anything could improve the area, lol.

A good Mouse would be a great for young kids. As well as fun for us enthusiasts.:)

Again, a nicely designed one. Like: http://www.rcdb.com/id2591.htm

Exactly. I would love to see a mouse like that or Dragon's Fury.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

Shouldn't these posts be in the other thread?

No this is entertaining to read dude!

This has allot to do with DD. What happens if it is sold? That's what we're talking about.

Just wanted to point out that if you are gonna change the subject of a paragraph (in mid-paragraph, I might add), its a good idea to mention the new subject when you do. Otherwise noone has any idea what you are talking about. Re-read your post and you'll see what I mean.

Also, making DD taller isn't much easier than making DT taller. The speed & forces change considerably, and would require extensive modifications to an already old ride. They'd be better of (financially) to just buy/build a new one, IMO.

Brandon

Changing the height will just change the speed going down, which will mean they need to change the length, or the force, of the brakerun. djDeamon is right, it would be more cost effective to build a new one.

Thrills Around the Corner!

Hopefully if Demon Drop gets sold then whatever goes in its place does bring people back to that side of the park. If it's not sold, expect it to be relocated somewhere in the back of the park. There is another option if its not sold(worst case). They'd sell the ride and somewhere it would sit as scrap for a while. I Highly doubt that would happen.

Now to jump off track again, hopefully whatever happens this season, maybe sometime during the 06 season if we're lucky Disaster Transport will be sale. Not having Disaster Transport there also gives you the opportunity to open up a new boardwalk area and expanding into the parking lot maybe 10 rows. This would also allow for a new Generation Cyclone that I'm talking about on another thread. This whole paragraph is just wishful thinking.

Swan Boats were not moved. They were removed. Demon Drop being sold...well, I like Power Tower better, but Demon Drop is good too. However, it is redundant for them to have 2 rides that do virtually the same thing when one is obviously a better attraction (power tower always has more of a line, and a fan base, than does Demon Drop) However, while upsetting to many, I think it will result in good things. I don't think a woodie will be built in the current area of Demon Drop. It has been promised that a ride better than Dragster will be built by 2007. My guess? A smaller carnie ride will be moved to the area of Demon Drop at the front of the park, some other carnie rides will be moved, and..that coaster that was promised, will show up in Frontier Town in summer of 2007.

I'd imagine they'll put a restaurant in DD's place. By the way, PT and DD are not the same ride. One is a true freefall, the other is not. I'm so tired of people comparing the two as being the same.

Actually, NO it has not been promised. It has been implied, suggested, hinted toward and speculated. But NEVER was it promised. Not once... unless you count the dream I had the other night. ;)
