$250,000, including station roof.

Look here.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Actually, DragonRider beat us all.

I looked at that site when stuff started to get talked about but I didn't think to look in spectaculars, I looked in coasters.

This is disappointing and confusing. First they removed Swan Boats at the back of the park for "no reason" and then markings showed up back there in Frontier Town. Now Demon Drop appears to be leaving us. I think Cedar Point is going to pull a huge trick out from under their multi-million dollar sleeve.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

I think they're going to pull a couple tricks.

They moved the Swan Boats because there just wasn't enough room. It makes more sense where they are now.

I had a bad feeling when they turned that midway a dead end by Demon Drop. I knew that it wouldn't last long with as little foot traffic as there is now.

This sucks. selling Geauga Lake's is fine if they would still have a version at CP, but taking them both? It takes up virtually no space. Unless that is going to be the home for future development within the next two years, I'm baffled by this decision.

It is a better drop ride than PT too, in my opinion.

I like both Demon Drop and Power Tower. They offer different rides. Power tower is a smooth, faster-than-freefall drop out in the open whereas Demon Drop is a richety freefall which promptly puts you on your back.

Demon Drop rules. I'll make sure to ride it a few times the next trip I take.

I wonder if they are going to keep it up until someone buys it or put it in storage at the end of the season.

What the?

Why would they be selling the ride? From the listing, its working just fine. It has a very small footprint, so I can't imagine much of anything big going in there. Why sell it and not just move it somewhere elase? A ride like that would be great at Michigan's Adventure, as they don't have anything like that over there.

Awww. I'll miss Demon Drop. Not that I ever really ride it, but it's nice to look at as I drive past the main entrance back to the Soak City lot.

They were right, though. No coasters were for sale at CP.

They do have a drop ride like power tower though.

I was never crazy about this ride, but the CP skyline will never be the same!!

Did we learn Mr. Hyde's is going too?

That really doesn't make any sense. If i recall correctly, there isn't much space there if they were to put in a new flat. A station for a roller coaster would have to run over the top of the buildings around it, and it just doesn't seem like CP to build one that runs primarily over the walkways. And its not like DD is that broken and bad looking and it still offers a decent ride.

As to the dissemmble and store or leave up...it said avaiable NOV 2005. So basically days after Halloweekends. So my guess is it will start to come down. But I could be wrong.

And the questions continue...

"Ive got the need, the need for speed!"

From the locked thread:

"There is a lot behind the games area. The games and merchandise offices/warehouse are back there along with Cash Control and some other things. I would question where those things would go if they are looking to do major expansion in that area of the park.

Now, perhaps a new ride COULD be built there with, what in effect would be a station where Demon Drop currently is and then extending out of the boundaries of the gates ala Maggie."

Just my .02 cents.

I will tell you there has been talk for years of building an administrative building off-point for the likes of some of the service-type departments such as Purchasing, HR, etc. Maybe something like that is on the horizon.

After reading about this over a coasterbuzz, I wonder if CP is going to upgrade. Replace the older intamin drop ride with one of the new ones.

Ravine Flyer II - The Gravity Group does it again.

I was thinking about something along these lines as well.
