I am wondering how many employees have met someone and started dating someone at cp?

Oh last season there was someone on my crew I was dating (never date anyone on the crew trust me) anyways she also turned out to be a psycho not just a psycho but a psycho hose beast so there goes any chacne of romance at CP. (for me at least)

Hey Crow, I have definetly got to second that whole 'never date anyone on your crew' thing. Even though it is great at first, because you get to see the person every day, it becomes difficult as heck if you and the person break up. Having to see them every day, especially if they are flirting with other people, really makes the job tough.

But you see the people on your crew more than anyone else usually, so it is easy to get attached to one of them...but I would certainly caution against it. For some reason, people you date at CP have a tendency to turn nutty (has a theme preceded me here?) I know there are some folks who have been lucky enough to meet the One at CP, and they live happily ever after. I don't think it is possible to go the whole summer and not hook up with at least one person at CP, and once the european employees start showing up...wow, now I'm even more anxious for the season to start then I was before ;-)

Yeah.. dating at CP can work out. The "nuttiness" factor I don't think has anythign to do with CP itself but the person you're with. If you end up hooking up with someone who feels that after 2 dates that you're going to spend the rest of your lives together even though they don't know your last name because it's not on your nametag. There should be some warning flags.

As for dating within the crew. I can't agree more. Granted I don't have that problem with our shop but I can't tell you how many times I saw it last season where people were dating people on thier crew and it just caused more problems. Even worse when one is an ATL or TL.

It causes a rip between the crew and the leadership because there are always undertows of "favortism" between the leadership and the person they are dating and a team can't function under those conditions.

If you find someone.. good for you. Just don't go into there expecting the love of your life to be the first person who smiles at you while you're waiting for the next pack of baby-buds at Louie's.

There are some exceptions to the rule but 9 times outta 10 it turns out to be not so good. In my case it turned out to be bad. BTW please do not get me started with the whole leadership thing there was a situation concerning that that ticked a lot of people off.

I started dating two people from cedar point. The first one never worked good. But the one I am with now is wonderful :) Sometimes there good sometimes there bad. I found the good one.

Dating at Cedar Point is nothing but trouble in my opinion. I met the guy of my dreams and then the season was over and we had to go our seperate ways. I rode the stupid greyhound 7 hours to go visit him and everything was fine until he turned into a complete jackass!!! Grrrrrr!!! I am not bitter or anything. I think some relationships have potential to work if you meet the right person and u both understand that at the end of the season you dont live next door to each other anymore. If you are just looking for a little fun at Cedar Point you can find that. Kristi be careful!! U may want to have fun and you probably will have a lot of chances to do just that but there are some pretty shady characters at CP to watch out for! I guess they are everywhere but CP seemed to have an abundance of what I call man whores and super sluts!! Eeeek!! Craziness!!!

I dated a guy for almost 2 years that I met working at CP. We were on the same crew, and it worked out fine for us, except for the people on the crew who were jealous and tried to cause trouble, but we didn't let it bother us.

But that's my point.. it tends to cause problems with people ON the crew and it only multiplies when it's someone in a leadership position of some kind.

I know it can be done as I've seen it work out. You are proof but you still have to take into consideration the imature behavior of team members and the static and problems it can cause and not all couples are strong enough to make it through such things.

Heck I was engaged to someone I met from the park. The first sesason I couldn't stand his pompous ass then the next we were fairly exclusive. (guess first impressions don't mean much) I will say this he's been one of the best freinds I've ever had. So if you at least get that out of being at CP you've accomplished alot. (see nothing negative )

CP is a good place to make new friends. Some people say it's like going to Pleasure Island. Everything is tempting to a lot of people. I've seen couples that were together before one or both of them went to CP to work and ended up breaking up because one of them or both were so tempted by some other person. Usually in the end they both lose.

Guys when I went to work at Cedar Point my family was in the process of moving from Michigan to Pa. and I was not looking for any kind of relationship because I was headed to a new place and I did not want a long distance relationship. Well midway though my first year I met someone started dateing and it carried over through my second year and now 11years later we have been married 7 half years and have 2 kids and 1 on the way. My point is you can meet someone at the Point but you can't go there looking for someone.
