the coefficiant of friction is constant, except there would be different values for when the train is in contact with the track on what part of the rails, with which wheels.
If we know the length of the main boom without the jib(s), we've got a very good method for measuring the tower.
I bringing this up because I think the numbers presented so far are optimistic. My estimates have been about 25% lower than previous "calculations".
Anyone with the CORRECT length of just the boom care to tell us how high the fourth level is?

Through the company that my father owns, a plumbing company, he must take classes every year to keep his masters license current. I the last class he was part of, the head maintnance manager was also in. And the numbers he gave were 430 feet to 460 feet tall, and speeds over 117 mph. just what I've heard take it or leave it.
Really? Next time you see him, thank him for breaching his confidentiality contract that he and about 49 others signed.

So people are trying to say that the tower is at about 385 ft? I don't think it's quite that high.
thus making the spacing about 55'
This post by Mach1 was very interesting. I am not going to quote the whole thing, but he concluded that the levels were between 50-52 feet each based on the following rule:

Refined calculations on current progress:Basic laws of geometry state that if a camera is at a given height above the ground, and the "horizon" is at "infinity" (i.e. a distance many times that of "near" objects) then the horizon creates a plane at the altitude of the camera.
I was viewing the original "Guess What Beach Cam" and noticed that the top of the second level on #16, the second overbanked turn on Millennium Island, and the hill returning off MI all line up with the horizon in that shot. I can find no information on how high that hill on MF is, but the press release for MF says that that overbanked turn is 100 feet. If that is true, then each level should be around 50 feet confirming what Mach1 said. I am not sure if you can be that precise, but it should be right within a few feet. Does anyone know the height of that hill returning off MI is for further confirmation?
