coaster final height

heres what i'm thinking, you would only want to climb up to the top of power tower only once to adjust a webcam, right? im figuring that the top of the new ride will fit into this webcam:

http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/inside_park/webcam/powertower.cfm

in fact, if you proportion all of the webcam shots, youll see that if you take the height of the current tower and add that measurement to the top, its at the top of the webcam pic every time. i think we have our height.

any other ideas?

hmmmm....... very interesting. I never thought of that
Well, there was ALOT more supports at the end of the season for this tower...at least 3 more catwalks.

But with this analogy....i'm getting more and more dissappointed that this ride might NOT even reach 400 feet. Plus, with the current cranes on site that dont go anywhere near 400 feet. We might not even have a record breaking coaster. Just Worlds Tallest Rocket coaster or somthing like that.

Ugh...L-TH-B thats not even 400 feet. Sounds like We got screwed over this year. But, Only time will tell...cant rush to conclusions.

I just hope it is taller than MF. I still would prefer it to be atleast 400 so we could have the first 200, 300, and 400ft coaster. But until more tower parts arrive I highly doubt it.

I've been thinking that for a long time!!! The tower right now is about 250ft. By looking at the supports that are on site, this thing may not beat Millie's height!

If this thing is only L-TH-TW-B, it better go over 310ft, or theres no way I'm waiting in line for it.

Cool! The potential for one, possibly two, less people in front of me in line for the new coaster. While you guys are watching from the midway, I will be happily enjoying another world class coaster from good ol' CP.

Since the brake run is so long, I think its safe to say that this thing will be taller than MF. Its hard to say if it will go over 400 ft though.
Hmm, I just thought about somthing....Rembember the WT Cam, only half of the rear tower fit in the picture. So i doubt that will be the end of the tower, I think that webcamis intended for the over all veiw of the site....Look at the other cams, There is ALOT of space left in the picture.

yes, if you cant stand it, dont wait in line. As many people have mentioned before, cedar point dosent owe anyone jack crap. if you are so dissapointed, build yourself something better. Some of the best coasters in the world dont hold records.

I hope it's taller than MF. And it probably will be just tall enough to fit into the webcams, well I gotta go now, I have a racquetball tournament to lose;)

We won't have the first 400 foot coaster if this is that tall... SF:MM has it with S:TE... I know, most don't consider that a coaster (including me), but according to the books it is a coaster...
big d,

btw, i really hated typing that. anyways, even when one tower was half out of the picture, the other was completely in it. we're looking at a coaster that is focused all on one end, so it should be be tall enough to fit the loop. i think we have enough room for a 400 foot high loop. and i agree with raptor 2 and smash 453. you know you're going to ride it regardless and theres no way it cannot be a great thrill. cedar point doesnt owe us the greatest ride ever every single year. i hope raptor2 is right. id like a shorter line.

Do you really think that the CEO of Cedar Fair climbed up the Power Tower to set the camera like that? Nope. It's just a general shot and one that inclued MF for everyone to see.

I might be wrong but wasn't the webcam pointed up more before the construction.

I dont think the person who went up there to adjust it could tell perfectly where it was going. They just moved it in the general area.

Plus, it also shows us the rest of the construction area.

I'm sure someone was watching the cam when they moved it, communicating by walkie talkie and such. I'm not saying they've got it framed this way for a specific purpose, just that I'm sure they didn't climb PT just to turn it towards the general direction.
i think having one cam, let alone, 3 cams compared to no cams is stellar. regardless of angle, lens, view....etc

i just said cam too many times...

Hey CPStalker the ride would be the first full circuit coaster over 400ft.
