If Chaos is removed after this season, I would just guess that it's going to another Cedar Fair park like what happened to Demon Drop. I like Cedar Fairs approach of how they handled Demon Drop. I mean yest I'm going to miss demon drop, but the future attraction will Thrill me just as much as demon drop did. On one note, Cedar Fair doesn't scrap rides too often which is a good thing.
Vince982 said:Maybe it's just me, but does anyone else think that the picture of the closed picnic pavilion could mean its demise? It is in the area that is in question.
Someone pointed out that they have everything set up in there for the season. The picnic tables, trashcans, etc. Even if it were going to be torn down, I don't see why it couldn't be used up until then.
I suspect that the closed off picnic pavilion and the as-yet-disassembled Chaos may be related. They use the picnic pavilions as off-season maintenance facilities, because the permanent shops at Cedar Point are, quite honestly, really not terribly spacious or impressive.

and if they were some how connected to Demon Drop, which is connected to the 2011 speculation, we are talking about a mammoth foot print!
:)
As I mentioned before. The future removal of Chaos would likely be done to allow for another ride to be moved into it's spot. Chaos was itself not originally located there. It was moved there to make room for Top Thrill Dragster. They could have plans in one part of the park that require moving ride "X". But they don't want to get ride of ride "X". So, instead they get rid of ride "Y" and move ride "X" into the spot where ride "Y" was.
I find it very unlikely that a ride will utilize the land where Demon Drop was in conjunction with the space where Chaos sits.

The latest press release says the park has 74 rides. If that figure includes STR, than I assume Chaos might be gone.
75 rides in 2008 and 2009. Removal of Demon Drop would make it 74, and adding STR would bring the number back to 75.
I wouldn't be surprised if Chaos is gone before the end of the season, but this is pure speculation.

I did see the tubs for the ride sitting between mean streak and planning and development.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
There were only six cars there on Sunday. If those are the spares, then the "live" cars are probably in the picnic shelter at the front of the park...

Is the Chaos ride still in Chance's current product offering? I don't believe it is manufactured anymore. That would lead me to believe that the stockpile of spare parts is quickly dwindling. It is kind of funny that the Schwabinchin was removed because all parts were manufactured as needed for it and it was costly to maintain.. Now look what has happened to the current ride sitting on the same site. cursed location I say!
