Cedars

Bringing expensive things with you is a bad idea. I'm apprehensive about even bringing my laptop, and if it weren't for the fact that I'm taking online classes this summer, I wouldn't be bringing it.

how difficult is it to be able to use one of the computers in the rec center? I have bills that I pay online, so I need to be able to get online.

Yeah I was thinking about that too. I pay my bills online as well as my parents. Oh and where exactly is the rec center? on or off point?

its off point, right by the common dorms and apartments.

if u click on 3d, aerial and bird's eye then zoom in on the south-west corner of 1st St and Cedar Point Dr, you will see 3 common dorms with silver roof and 4 apartments with shingle roof, the rec center is the 1 story building with the silver roof on the far left side of the complex. If you look closely, you can see the fence around the buildings.

when are you processing in ? I am going to get there may 8th then process on the 9th. I talked to someone at CP and they said that the cedars will open some time between then and the beginning of June. So I will have to stay in the commons until the cedars open up. What area are you going to be working in? is this ur 1st season? Would you like to be room mates in the cedars? I will be bringing my truck up with me. I am working 2nd shift 5 or 6pm until 2am or so.

Here is a map of the Cedar Dorms, Its the buildings where Preimeter Rd turns to the left at. They are between the Marina and the road.

I won't be there until June 5th but I talked to housing today and Cedars should be open by the first week of June. I'm a newbie working traffic/tolls from around 7-8 am to 1:30 and then 6:30-post closing at night. Yeah I'll room with you just save me a spot until I get there. FYI guys. If you are staying at cedars then you can use the WIFI at Hotel Breakers or at Doughnut Time instead.

Are there computers anywhere else at cedar point to use other then at the rec center, I know about the library. I am just trying to decide whether or not to bring my laptop. I was also considering buying a broadband card for my comp through Verizon wireless if there wasn't a spot close by to get online and the comp were difficult to get time on.

There are 4 computers inside of Donut Time, but those are technically for guest use.

Verizon has a free USB card right now but the service is $59.99/mo for 5GB then 49cents/MB after that. I know that they have a program set up where the termination fee lowers every month that you have it. So you might have to pay $300 after 2 months if you terminate, but then maybe only $150 after a yr or so. I have heard of a couple companies doing that now, don't remember which ones.

Sprint charges $59.99/mo for unlimited data usage. I don't know how their terminate fee works.

I use to have sprint, I liked their data service, just not customer service. I use to work as a courier and drive all around Columbus and other spots out from there. I took a trip to Texas and had very few time where I didn't have a strong enough signal to keep my messengers online.

Use the Wi Fi from the Breakers... Forget about the HDTV as somebody else will be using it in a short time... Get a huge toolbox and lock it to your bed...

I was a Housing Supervisor at Cedars for 2 years. The building itself is a dump and a fire hazard to say the least. It amazes me that people are still allowed to be housed here.

But honestly people, you are not here for "any" type of luxury. The convenience is bar none. You can sleep in, you have quick access to the park, and the view of the Lake is gorgeous. You spend just enough time in your room to sleep...and even that is rare.

Now as far as the legendary, infamous shower stories...yes they may be true and yes there is enough action (or amusement and shock) to fill an adult bookstore...but if that is not your thing, then politely decline. You will be safe.

The lounge is a great place to make many a new friend, potential bf/gf, etc. Sit here long enough and you are bound to see all types of people. It's better than a mall food court.

Consider Cedars and most importantly....HAVE FUN THIS SUMMER!!

I've always pondered writing a book of erotica and humor, based upon the life experiences at Cedars dorms.

According to the Housing Office, The Cedars should be open by Thursday May 22. The other day they said that it was suppose to open up today but there are still people working in them. They have carpenters in there right now. From what I have heard, They repainted and recarpeted every room in the Cedars. They are trying to fix them up as much as they can but since they are almost 100 yrs old, there is only so much that they can really do to them, without completely tearing them down and rebuilding them.
