"Cedar Point is building for the future!"

The Truck is near the tunnel

Welcome to New York City

Well... It's not from B&M, S&S or M&M so we'll just have to keep our pants on. I do wonder... How much does a 400' coaster cost that was under design and likely under factory construction for another park in Germany, yet canceled less than a year out from it's installation??? It's not like they can build the metal parts for such a monster in a couple of weeks.

Maybe its me, but I don't see any truck there. Nonetheless, I'm sure it had its reasons to be there, but probably not dealing with a new coaster.

Yep - there's no doubt that it's a truck. And there is no doubt that it certainly would have something to do with Area 51. No doubt at all. I mean, if there's a truck there, what else could it be for?

Or, since there are buildings on the Trail, it could just be something like the Woodcarver's Shop or the Frontier Trail Craft Area. Nah ... that's really pressing it now. Nobody would ever believe that.

When I looked further, you wouldn't believe what I saw. Sandor Kernacs is on the web cam image!!!! I circled him in red. If you don't see him at first, keep looking really hard. It takes about 2 hours of staring before you actually start to see him. This is the proof we need!!!

Even for you guys, this is a new level.

I can't believe I just read the entirety of this thread.

The one thing I cannot get over (and laugh heartily at) is the notion that seasonal employees somehow know Cedar Point's future plans. I am guessing one in every fifty employees gets a secret memo printed at the bottom of their "Long Island" cup at Louie's. Considering my scant attendance this summer, I really have nothing to say about the actual area itself. Most of the pictures in this thread have been indecipherable and offer me little chance of being on the same wavelength.

Or is it seasonal imployees? lol. Sorry, I am still cringing about a specific post I saw several pages ago. I suppose I am not as open-minded as I thought.

Welcome to New York City

isn't that some iron dragon track...
Um...Yeah. I can clearly see some track there. It is dingy red and appears to be suspended on some dingy green supports. Could it be.....

A suspended coaster with very little thrill new for 2003? I would call it Draggin Iron.

Nahh...Just a pipe dream.

I don't see anything other than that.

all i see its like a black dot in the middle of the clearing....TRACK?????

Welcome to New York City

I was there today, and checked out the "clearing" everyone sees from the Power Tower cam.... from Iron Dragon, and Paddlewheel. It's the area where the old guy rides his bike with wings toward the Paddlwheel boat. The "truck" is a cherry picker next to the Iron Dragon track. There is nothing new back there, or on the Millennium Island. From the Magnum lifthill, the "area 51" looked like it was becomming over- grown with weeds during all the inactivity behind the wall. From the Gemini, you could see one big footer, but that was all. They announced Millennium Force in August, maybe they'll do the same here.........whatever it is, I'm sure it will be awesome. Very short lines today for being the Sunday before the 4th!!!!
I would like to see something like "X" at Magic Mountain. I want to ride something like that.
Maybe we will get a ride like X. On the Travel Channel show last night, they said the footers for X go down 80 feet. Maybe thats why CP started early, so they could get all the footers done in time. Hhhhmm....

No X. CP is not going to install something that is so horribly unreliable. X may deliver a good ride, but the engineering leaves much to be desired.
Just an observation, I think Jeff knows. And if he doesn't, I'm still glad he made this special forum for the discussion of area 51. But also, I don't think we'll see an 'X' type ride for 2 reasons, First, Arrow is bankrupt! Second, they are the only ones, (So far) who have, after remanufacturing the trains and whatnot, somewhat successfully tried this new technology. And although many of you may argue, CP has a lot of prototype rides, the first reason I mentioned, means no arrow on this one. IF it is a prototype ride, look for it to be from one of the 2 partners CF has recently delt with (Intamin or B&M). I believe this because they are if not 2 of the, the 2 best steel coaster companys out there, and although CP has had some touble with MF, and WT this year, look at some of Intamin's other rides. Older coasters like DT, when was the last time it was down due to maintainance. Or S:ROS @ any of it's various locations, besides the broken chain @ SFDL, what elese has there been. And B&M, I mean, i really don't have to say anything. But honestly, it's gonna be one of the newer types, not a prototyp. I'm thinkin' a flyer, because of the location. (trees, water, other coasters to weave through.) Thats just my 2 cents. And all be quite for ahile now. And as Mike Meyers said many times....

"Talk Amongst yourselves. I'll give you a topic: Area 51 is neither an area, nor 51 years old. Discuss!!"

This was mentioned in a different forum, but I thought it sounded reasonable. There aren't any flat rides at Cedar Point that use footers right? Well, could Cedar Point be moving Wildcat to Area 51? I haven't been to CP yet this year and I don't know what the exact size of the area is, but could this even be a possibility. If they did this, they could demolish the dorm and build another somewhere else and that would leave a nice area for a coaster. I don't know exactly what I'm talking about, but it sounds reasonable to me. What about you?

well, Wildcat rests on a foundation, so I doubt they would be moving it over to Area51's large footers.. Especially with the sign. "Cedar Point is building for the future...kinda."
