The boats are the same on Pilgrims Plunge so I'd expect STR to push as much water as Pilgrim does. Now I'm aware of the speed/height difference between the 2 but the boats seem to kick up a bit of a wave once they actually hit the water. And I'm willing to bet STR will do the same thing Pilgim does in that it'll skim for a short distance (in STR's case, real short) before hitting the water full force.

Here's some references to Pilgrim's Plunge's splash. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A41brhgXlfQ&feature=player_embedded

Call me crazy, but Pilgrims Plunge looks like it doesn't even totally soak its riders, like in the way that SRF does. I really doubt that STR is going to get riders drenched. Maybe it's just me. Can anyone vouch for the wetness factor of Pilgrims Plunge?

I doubt the splash will get you wet, but if they end up doing the waterfall and water bombs those will get you wet.

I doubt the waterfall will go in. In place of that they should put in what WWL had which was the small tunnel with the sprinkling water.

BTW, anyone see Charlie Brown Christmas on tonight?:)

Trust me Pilgrims Plunge can and does get you soaked. The "show water" on the drop ends up spraying riders the whole way down and it becomes much stronger once you hit splashdown. The good thing is, as long as you are in the front your bottom half does not get too wet, in the back you dont get sprayed as much but you get a tidal wave which hits the back of your boat and gets your bottom half soaked.

You will get soaked on Shoot the Rapids, and here's why:

If the splash doesn't get you, I'll be standing next to the flume with a fire hose. All summer. You can bet on it. :)

CPBoy77, why don't you think the waterfall is going to be put in? I like the idea.

Look at the concept drawings for Snake River Falls or even Maverick and you will see what he doesn't think the waterfall will go in. Anything relative to theme is the first to go when Kinzel gets out his red pen.

Didn't they say before that they were able to adjust the "soak" factor? Why did tony just tell us that we will get soaked? This seems more like an elongated SRF now to me. I am not quite sure that the kids will want to get soaked on the new ride.

Of course it can be adjusted. The soak factor depends on how much you cover yourself with the CP rain ponchos that will be on sale at the stand next to the entrance.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that Tony was joking. :)

And yes, they've said all along that the soak factor will be adjustable.

Are you kidding? The crazy teenagers are the ones who try to get soaked. I'm pretty sure grandma is the one who wants to stay dry.

No steel has gone up yet. Does this mean that they're behind?

I thought they said after the holiday break, the steel would start to go up.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I thought they said they would be finishing up at that time, and it would start the second week of dec. Now you have me wondering haha.

No, they said they expected steel to go vertical in the second week of December. Being that this is the second full week, I wouldn't start worrying about schedules just yet.

They seem to be making a lot of rapid progress, and they seem to almost be done with the electrical/pump area, which is probably one of the most complex aspects to the entire project.
