Cedar Point Announces New Water Ride for 2010 Season

Ha! I figured as much. :)

I was watching this morning. There was a semi making a delivery and after they were done unloading it, the driver spent almost 30 minutes trying to figure out how to turn the truck around to get out.

The time lapse of that is fun! :) It's a tight squeeze back there...

That was fun to see DJ. Nice job. You really get a different perspective and notice new details when you have a video like that. The water table certainly is high in that area, as any hole they dig fills with water rather quickly.

Lots of cement being poured today. They are working on the 2nd splash pool. It looks like they are on their 11th truck already.

I love it when a plan comes together!

This is fun watching construction. I'm already anxious for supports to start rising. :)

I assume that once all the cement is done, you will see supports rise. There will not be too many though as there is just 2 hills on the ride.

The park got their first snow coating of the year this morning.

We got a sneak peak at the Video Podcast during ACE's Holiday party Saturday. Tony made us take an oath that we wouldn't post pictures or information. :)

I sure don't miss that weather on the peninsula. That picture is the perfect retort for anyone that thinks CP should have a holiday event over Christmas.

The peninsula is not a fun place to be in the winter.

You know, I've always wanted to have a look inside that super-secret warehouse behind/next to Breakers Express...and now I've had my look! ;)

On a semi-related note, isn't that where they used to work on/rebuild the WWL boats when needed? I seem to remember that the park did all of their own fiberglass/chasis work on the boats there, but maybe I'm mistaken.

I have been in there a few times and its mostly a Merch warehouse. I have never seen anything but merchandise for the parks. They could do work in there on ride vehicles, I was not really paying that close attention while in there.

Wow is all I can say, alot of stuff I have missed. Nice seeing it though and that time lapse is amazing. I would suggest to keep doing it, just in case you miss something ***cough*** Tony***cough*** that is not on the other time lapse that just may be interesting to see. Either way though I am highly impressed with eveything I see and although I know CP would be terrible in winter I must admit I have always wondered what it would be like to walk around in a snow covered and silent Cedar Point

COLD! :-)

Those boats look comfortable! Like the shape of the seats and plenty of room relative to the other passengers.

The front of the boats looks pretty blunt, so I expect they are going to push a lot of water when they hit, like Jurassic Park ride. Hopefully not on the riders.

I don't know that chrome on those lap bars is the wisest choice for a water ride, unless they are going to encase them in something. Gotta feeling those aren't going to be looking so nice in a few years of use.

Why not? Hard chrome is incredibly durable, and stands up to a lot more abuse than decorative chrome plating.
