It looks like it has given a healthy amount of night rides tonight... looks almost spooky out there in the dark. I hope I'm with people willing to stay late and ride at night when I make it to the park this year!
I'd imagine there would be more bugs around Shoot the Rapids than Millennium Force just because of the water.
Over a year for me. Been to the park 3 times this year so far, and not going back untill Halloweekends. Be there twice during that time and I am sure it won't be running then. But I don't really give a hoot, there are too many other good rides to ride.

You may have to wait a few days to get an accurate 'wait time estimate'. Today seems to be the first day the ride has operated consistently through the day.

Rode STR today. The wait time was on the bridge and I was on in about 15 minutes.
I enjoyed the ride, as it didn't soak me as bad as SnaRF/TC. I was thoroughly disappointed however, as they did not have the effects on before the second lift. Otherwise it was a nice little ride.

I just checked out the str cam and noticed the ride is not operating (4:30 pm) with clear skies. Anyone have any intel on why this ride is having such difficulty staying open?

It was made by Intamin.
I wonder how many sensors Shoot the Rapids has :)

Does anyone have POV clips yet from the ride? I mean has anyone ruined there cameras yet to get a pov?
Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.

Well, wanting to go on water rides without ruining my camera or getting a locker is why I got pentax's water proof camera. I had the W20 and just upgraded to the W90. That being said, I won't be getting POV because it's against the rules.Though I do have POV of Snake River Fall's Bridge Splash and POV of the Rapids ride at PortAventura in Spain.
By the way, Waterdummy's nickname for Snake River Falls is my new favorite ride nickname. SnaRF

There's a little bit of POV at the end of this video from Cedar Point.
I was going to say the same thing :)

My daughter dragged me on StR tonight. It was around 7:00, and just as with WaterDummy earlier, it was about a fifteen minute wait.
My take? A qualified thumbs up. It isn't a replacement for WWL, but then again, in no universe would it ever have been. By CF standards, the theming is fairly inspired (liked the little Akron connection, if you haven't seen it yet). I particularly enjoyed the leg passing through the canyons.
Allegedly there is some special treat or effect that takes place before the second lift. If there was, I didn't notice it. I'm guessing it has something to do with the town scene?
Now the negative. Ava and I made the mistake of being assigned the front row and not disagreeing. Even with ponchos, we were utterly soaked by the combination of front seat splashdowns, waterfalls and geysers. Maybe in different circumstances it would have been more bearable. Then again, the people who rode in the same boat behind us looked awfully wet too. So who knows?
I do like the ride, even though it's not what I was hoping for. And yes, I'll probably ride it again, later this summer.
In a wetsuit.
