I wouldn't necessarily count out a 5th dimension either.
It's the most entertaining for many reasons. First, it will undoubtedly be the longest thread here in a matter of weeks, and it will run the extreme from wild speculation to some plausible ideas. Then we will also see a number of people who claim to have secret information and toss out "clues". There will be arguments; oh yes, some highly "panties-in-a-bunch" arguments about literally nothing, since no one who knows any shred of information will actually spill any.
Don't get me wrong, it's fun to dream and speculate about what is coming next to Cedar Point, but this thread pops up every year, and I guess it's just fun to see what people's ideas are.
From Jeff's perspective, I would assume he has at least an idea of what may be coming, and it's rather enjoyable to sit back and see just how wrong people are; especially those who claim otherwise.
I ran into the GM this week to talk about our plans for next year's Face your Fear (the phobia trip), and all he told me with a wink was "If I told you, I'd have to kill you."
I think he was serious. :)
Promoter of fog.
Yeah, I am one of those people who have asked... :) but his response was just, "I am not allowed to give you that information, but I am glad you are interested in the future of Cedar Point."
But has anyone maybe thought that those survey markings could be for a potential refurbishment of DT? One of my friends had brought that up to me today. I was just wondering what you guys thought.
I would be bummed out if they get rid of DT. Its one of the very few coasters that both of my kids like to ride. One of them doesn't like coasters at all.

I'm really kind of curious how much they could build around DT. We've talked plenty before about the possibilities of sticking something in the infield of Mean Streak. I'm kind of curious what you could do in reverse.
A lot of it would probably have to involve removing a lot of the warehouse structure, if possible, since I doubt you'd want to make it load-bearing for whatever you're building around it, but if they really wanted to keep Avalanche Run underneath that, I'm sure it'd be at least -plausible-.
I think it would be neat seeing some kind of ride being built in Mean Streak's Infield. That way when people go into Mean Streak's Entrance, they have a choice of going to Mean Streak or the new ride. The new ride could even be a flat ride of some kind. Now that Mean Streak Is enjoyable like it used to be, that would attract people to Mean Streak more! ;)
If they get rid of DT it would be nice to see it restored to its 1985 "Avalanche Run" glory for a season or two. That would also open up views to the beach.

I really wouldn't want another green B&M if the track that was spotted is going to cedar point. I'm ready for a color that no other coaster at the park has. I'm getting tired of all the red and don't want the (hopefully) 2013 ride to have a color that an existing one already has. It would be cool to see orange, yellow, or purple track added to the skyline. However I'd really love a new woodie (I've never been on El Toro at SFGA but heard it's amazing) so an Intamin prefab like it would be a prefect fit, in my opinion.

Well for S&G my prediction is with Ohio now having legalized gambling....
Cedar Point will introduce a Casino/Hotel, vegas style with a coaster running in and out of it. along with revialization of the beach with a boardwalk, and some small shops/eateries kind of like a mini citi-walk.
I seem to remember Dick wanted a casino on the peninsila. This type of situation would stick to the Amusement Park / Coaster Thrill / Family theme!
Please Feel Free To Bash / Flame / Comment Nicely to my thoughts. I have not been on here for a while, and I miss a good keyboard lashing. LOL
