I have never felt this confident about a coaster for next season though. I'm just clueless about what model it'll be, and who knows, it might not be Intamin, B&M or GCI. I think they are really going to surprise us with something. I know Cedar Point is more "family oriented" but I don't see them waiting 6 years then debut a generic wing coaster that lacks forces. It'll be something big, maybe they needed the extra time to make sure everything is right with it, it could be a prototype.

This thread is about to get huge! I just hope that somebody comes up with a way to give hints or clues to what it is (that is if 2013 brings a new ride/coaster). Was it Tony and Tyler that were behind giving the hints to what Shoot the Rapids was? I remember the "White Lighting" teasers and such back before STR was announced.
As much as I love to speculate and anticipate the latest and greatest, sometimes I miss my younger days. Before the internet and everyone having a camera in their pocket. I fondly remember the official news release of a 200 foot coaster. When we got there in May 1989, jaws dropped at that first sight of that monster. And before that, every year going to Cedar Point was an exploration of what's new. No, I would not want to go back to those times, just saying how we all can 'watch as it happens' now. My morning coffee would not be complete without a scan of screamscape, pointbuzz, and the CP cams.
Ride On!
Because I've heard that while every Wing Coaster is fun, it lacks forces. I don't see how you can make it have forces with the train design.
Screamscape reports that people have been told to get their last rides on DT, has anybody else heard that?

I have heard no such rumor, but I'm not exactly in the loop...but since Screamscape gets most of their reports/rumors by reading the threads on pointbuzz and coasterbuzz, anything discussed here could end up there as a "reports"

There are, what, 4 wing coasters on Earth, 2 of which aren't in the US. I think you're making a pretty huge assumption there. Plus, how can you even mention the word "generic" when there are only 4 worldwide?

The markings SS references are probably old, as Dave pointed out recently. That doesn't mean DT is safe (and personally I hope it's gone next year), but SS rumors should be taken with a grain of salt, to say the least.

Where as, the ones Walt has highlighted in the 2013 page are more recent. It is pretty obvious they're new when you see them on pavers.

Am I the only one who gave up on Screamscape a long time ago?

Well after thinking about it, shoot the rapids was pushed back a year. Wouldn't that make everything else become pushed back as well? Lets say that Mr K had planned to retire when he did. I would think that mr K would have wanted to leave with a big bang... Like a roller coaster. But if shoot the rapids cause everything to be pushed back, that would have caused me k's leaving with a bang to be pushed back as well.
Maybe that has to do with the "accelerated" removal of Wildcat- to begin "getting back on schedule." Not that they have a strict schedule that they MUST adhere to, but it's still a thought.

I thought Monty said something along that line as well. I guess it's either the powers at CP really don't want a wooden coaster, or they're all trolling us. :)
The director and maintenance of new construction also said that CP wan't interested in a new wooden coaster: http://wkzo.com/blogs/post/spatrick/2010/nov/16/interview-cedar-poi...-ed-dangl/
Not that this has anything to do with Cedar Point at the moment B&M does have some new track at there Ohio plant. Could this be for Cedar Point?

I don't agree with that SSL. Someone posted on here yesterday a time lapse video of Raptors construction from the very beginning. They had to remove a lot of stuff to get that ball rolling.
Besides, when was the last time a new ride at cedar point opened on time? ;)

This will be the most entertaining thread for me this summer.

It should definitely be more entertaining than other threads that have gotten derailed by "I'm right, you're wrong" arguments....
Looks like they have already cranked out quite a few pieces of track....I'm interested to know when it will start disappearing from that lot at the fabrication plant and what direction it might be headed.
Weren't Wild Eagle track sections spied last year on I-65 or I-75 en route to Dollywood?
