All I can say is when I use the single rider line on the maveric I get bad looks and rumbleing from the other people in line. Letting in more people in a bypass line wouldn't far so well with the other people who have been in line for an hour.the thing is, those people could have used the single rider line. They chose not to. And if people don't want to spend a little extra money, it is there fault that they would be standing in the regular line. They had a choice to buy a "fastpass" but they dint want to, so they shouldn't complain about other people who did spend the extra money.
I agree fully but also I've passed people up that are waiting in the single rider line. So sometimes they do not get that lucky.
Here's a thought.
People have mentioned that horrific event of a "mob" of people holding a ride hostage by abusing the system. I suppose in theory that is possible, however, consider this:
The only demographic of people I can actually see doing that would be some unruly teenagers purposely trying to take advantage of it. That said, chances are still slim, but it is possible.
We also know that the people who really have the money to spend at parks are families. Most teenagers do not have an extra $50 each on their own to plop down for this type of thing. And what family would do this? Most parents, I would assume, would not allow their kids to abuse it, nor would they. Might they sneak in a couple rides? Sure. Is that going to add an hour to the line? No.
I guess in retrospect, I'm really not sure the impact of something like this would actually be that great. I remember back when Freeway was at CP, and on days when I would forget to get a stamp or whatever, it's not like I felt tortured by those who had it. The impact was minimal.
Do you get "looks" when you use Parent Swap? Of course (my wife and I are regular users now)...but is that a big deal? I don't care if some kid in line does not know why I am seated on TTD while he has to wait a whole extra train (god forbid), and gives me a rude look. You just go about your day
Promoter of fog.
If its not broke, (which it isn't), don't fix it!
When did everyone get lazy and bitchy about having to wait in line to ride a rollercoaster or popular flat ride? You are going to a popular amusement park, expect to have to wait in some kind of line.
I have the money to pay for this when i visit, but i guess im just looking at it this way.... "nobody is better than anybody else" so just suck it up and wait in line. If you want to "skip the line", pay the high price of being a "VIP".

Why is it that you feel waiting in line must be an integral part of the park-going experience? Not wanting to stand around for an hour doesn't make me lazy - it means I value my time, apparently more than you value yours.
...im just looking at it this way.... "nobody is better than anybody else"...
That has nothing to do with anything.
And you know what? If there's a better alternative than spending an hour standing in a queue for a ride, then I'd argue the current system is broken. Just because you're not used to it doesn't mean this isn't a better way to do things.

Ok, ill go this route.....add it as a perk to staying at a Cedar Point Resort. That should fill the hotels and make them more money than offering it as a $50 add on to a ticket. Thats what its all about right....$$$$$$

I wouldn't be surprised if they did exactly that, in addition to offering it to everyone else.
And you're correct - a business' purpose is to make money.

JW I was just thinking that. I think Universal does the same and I hear many people say that's pretty much the only reason they pay the extra money to stay on site there.

Yes, but only for the resort guests! They don't offer crap as far as perks go for a "resort". If this is going to come to CP, this is the way it should go. If you want to "skip the line", get a room!

Why? The resorts stay pretty well close to booked as it is, there's no need to throw another incentive in to try and get people to book a room.

Universal also lets you pay for the "skip the line" priviledge if you are not staying at a resort. I am an annual passholder there, and when I go, I don't see much activity from the "fastpass" lane in the afternoons. Don't know what it is like during the day or night hours. From my experience, the cost prohibits a lot of people from getting it - and the resort guests probably hit the park in the early and late hours. Now Halloween Horror Nights is another story altogether.
With the lines being manageable, for the most part, at CP, I don't think many would take them up on the offer (if it even gets offered at that park).

I've seen it happen first hand on El Toro last summer. A group of at least 20 was riding over and over with their gold Flash Passes. Add to that a handful of other FP users entering for each cycle who were also riding once or twice before moving on. The standby line virtually stopped moving during that time.
I'm sure most people will argue that that's not the norm (and admittedly it probably isn't) and I'm sure others will argue that even more extreme examples exist out there. Just sharing what I've seen first hand.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
I have gotten nasty looks and heard nasty things just from using the disability pass on some rides, and my fake leg is clearly visible since, yaknow, it's silver.
If people get that annoyed over someone waiting the same amount of time when they have a clear disadvantage (This would include disabilities and parent swap) then I'm not sure it will be taken well if the people "cutting" line are paying extra or power-riding over and over because they have no wait.
I also wonder what it'd do to parent-swap and disability passes. Would those people, who already waited, have to then wait again for all of the fastpass/VIP people to ride before they could ride themselves? Would they all be treated the same while coming up the exit? Would there be a new fastpass queue? Who would get priority?
I mean I've seen it get kind of hectic when a parent swap and two disability passes end up at the exit at the same time ready to ride... and the whole point of the disability pass is so that you don't have to stand/walk for an extended period of time. There have been times I waited my full time, then had to wait another 20 minutes (sitting on the pavement) at the exit because they can't get their act together with just a couple people coming up the exit at once.
Why can't Cedar Point make announcements through big presentations like these....?

Cause they don't need to. They can make an announcement with a regular old news release to the news outlets and with social media like facebook(granted you have to deal with idiots who are mad cause whatever they announce isnt exactly what they had in their minds) and have a ton of buzz.

I think a big presentation would actually be really cool
Not saying it wouldnt be. They did a big presentation for Diamondback and Intimadator that turned out to be really neat. I'm just saying its not something that they need to do.
^ Yeah I see where you are coming from. I think it would be a great thing to go to though if you are an enthusiast.
I know this is a Cedar Point 2012 thread and I don't know if this would be an idea towards that or not. I think if Cedar Point is going to keep Disaster Transport, they need to do something with the trains for next year. I'm 5"-7", and I still feel like I'm too tall for the ride because there is hardly any leg room. Does anybody else have this problem?
I'm 5'10 or 11 and it is definitely a smaller fit than the other rides. I don't find it to be an unbarable discomfort, but it is a little uncomfortable. My dad is ....Claustraphobic.....? don't know how to spell it... but he is about the same height as me and he hates how you don't have any room. He is fine on any of the other roller coasters though.
I was looking on google maps today and if it is true that the turnpike cars, calypso, and possible cadilac cars are removed, that would create a great amount of room for a new coaster. I feel like a wooden coaster would not be a good fit there, so maybe a B&M coaster or something else. I'm hoping it wouldn't be an intamin. Don't get me wrong, I love their rides that they have brought to the park, but they have gotten so many of them in the past 10 years. I would like to see something different for a change.
