A "surprise" would mean something unexpected occurring. How unexpected would a coaster announcement be once that coaster has been completely built and we're already a few weeks into the season? :)
Well, if it's an Intamin coaster, the surprise would be that it's open in June.

I am still very very hopeful that tge coaster will come fir the 2012 season. However, every day that goes by without seeing signs of clearing cause my hopes to die a little. But then that means 2013 must be a coaster;)
All of the rumors mentioned have some great ideas, links to other park projects, etc. Perhaps we will have some rehab to Soak City in 2012, and removal and or move of Calypso, Cadillac Cars, Turnpike Cars and the old Priate Ride Building after the park season in November. The 2013 project may include something on Frontier Trail? Or perhaps around the Space Spiril and older food vending area near this ride? If the announcement for a coaster is in the summer of 2012 for 2013, by that date most footers will be in place with pieces of the ride being stored near the Breakers Express as was the experience with Mavrick. As reported during the PointBuzz tour, rides / attactions have been approved and or in the works through the 2014 season. I am very proud to have witnessed the amazing growth of Cedar Point.
I hope it doesn't go in FT trail. Although the trail does need an upgrade, a roller coaster would cause for the removal of a great number of trees.
As fir the turnpike car area, I feel that if a roller coaster was there, it just wouldn't look good. It would look like a big mess with raptor and blue streak near by.
I always thought about how a dark ride would have looked on Milli island. They crushed my idea when they put in STR. Just imagine and old looking warehouse and or house(yes I am thinking Haunted Mansion) sitting in the middle of the trees. It would be a good setting tucked away.
Ride-on
After riding Hydra at Dorney Park last week for the first time, I would love to see a Floorless roller coaster at Cedar Point in the future. Hopefully Cedar Point has one planned in the future but only time will tell. For all you people doubting Cedar Point getting a roller coaster, there is still time!! It's only June going into July. There is plenty of time for them to announce that a ride could be leaving and another one coming in for 2012 to take it's place. Let's just take one day at a time :)
Really? Hydra did it for you? I was rather meh about the ride.

Yeah, there is still plenty of time.....when do they open a new ride on-time anymore anyways? They could start now, dig out the "future is riding on it" sign (never giving an opening date) and be finished in 2015!

Hydra has to be the worst floorless coaster ever built...well, at least that I have ridden. Just so...boring. Whenever a floorless is mentioned, some people always chime in about Raptor giving a similar ride experience, which I personally disagree with. Frankly, I am really surprised CP never went after a good floorless, especially since their only "hyper" is the semi-painful Magnum.
Promoter of fog.
I don't think any floor less is of hyper height. But dominator and Great Adventures are very good rides.

I think Hydra is awesome. But when I have been to Dorney, there is never a lone for it. I have only been to Dorney Park twice, so how well does the ride do? Personally I like Hydra better than Dominator at KD because Dominator feels to much like Mantis, but a bit longer and with floor-less trains.
The only 2 floorless coasters at or above 200' are SheiKra and Griffon and those are first and foremost, Dive coasters.

I'd love to see a ride similar to Griffon. That ride is just so much fun! It might not be the tallest fastest but it is awesome!

Cedar Point is known for its lengthy coasters but it could be that since Cedar Point is sorta scarce on land maybe The Park is Moving into that Compact Coaster Phase Packing a Great Punch in a Small Footprint..
For example Look at What Hersheypark has done with Fahrenheit its no maverick, its definately not intamins best work, and its not jaw dropping but it provides and thats the ride everyone wants to do and runs to every morning at opening.
Runner up would be Storm Runner This coaster is a bit spread out thru the park and on top a everything in Pioneer Frontier But once again it delivers and once again Packs a Good Punch in a Very small Footprint
so this could be the reason you dont see anything yet remember Fahrenheit wasnt announced until late september and construction begun in early december.im not saying Cedar Point is going to put in a coaster that is compact buts its an idea of what the park may be dealing with so dont let your hopes down its still pretty early in the game but as of now we can only speculate....
Another thing most parks usually add something a year before or so to kinda get things going for the following year and Cedar Point is Definately Due For a New Roller Coaster..Lets Hope For The Best :-)
