Ok, so this was posted over at Coasterbuzz.
I wonder how many people said that in the month before Paramount Parks were bought by Cedar Fair?
Goodbye MrScott
John
I knew it was happening. And it was not a surprise.
Big Dipper at CP? There's no need, want, or logic in that process.
Case closed.

Cedar Point NEEDS another good rollercoaster. People WANT to save the Big Dipper. Cedar Fair already owns it and its close by. That sounds LOGICAL.
I wouldn't expect it to happen but it would be really cool if they put it near the beach though.

Of course you did. Hell, so did John and I.
We knew about Watergate as well.

Big Dipper isn't much of a CP-needed ride when we have the Mine Ride and Blue Streak.. The people that really want to save BD are GL-regulars...too bad. Just because CF owns it doesn't mean they'll just dump it into a park.

Paramount was up for sale. Kinzel had always wanted Kings Island. Cedar Fair needed growth.
It was coming.

OK, seriously, who gives a crap on people quote?
And last time I checked, this was a Big Dipper thread.

I don't expect them to bring the big dipper to cedar point but it would make sense if they did. The Big Dipper isn't really Cedar Point style though. Its not the biggest, fastest, newest, or coolest. It would be a fun addition to the park but I expect it to get put in about as much as I expect a brand new dive coaster that goes under Lake Eerie to be put in.
It won't open in 09, 10, 11, or ever. Why would they throw it in a park that does not need it, especially when it's soon going to be auctioned?

Exactly how many times can a case be closed? So far, I count three.
And yeah, unless they hired about 40,000 Oompa Loompas, there wouldn't be much hope for getting Big Dipper dismantled, moved and assembled in less than 3 weeks.

I didn't think anyone was ever talking about this happening for '08.
I wasn't replying to you with regard to the timing, James. But thanks for playing.
ADDED:
Yeah, Maverick alluded to it happening in '09, if ever. I simply reinforced the obvious.

I dont see it happening, but not because of this logic. If you argue they are not in need of this, than what exactly are they in need of? I would argue that there is just as much need for a quality wooden coaster (since we only have one) that also serves as a family mid-level coaster.
In fact, I cannot think of any need CP has greater than this.
