Any word or thought on a ride for 2006???

The order of pieces doesn't really matter when it's pre-construction time. The order of arrival is irrelevent, it only matters when you're trying to put it together. ;)

I think some of the first pieces of Maxair to arrive where the pendulum, or middle column pieces.

cpfan, Do you know why they are doing that? Did something happen to the ride that they need them?

I believe they did that because they wanted to ge the ride opened and did want to take the time to get it all set up inside the electrical building.

GThrills has some pictures of the blue tarp. I think these pictures confirm it is a screamin swing http://www.gthrills.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=41&page=2

^I took those pics! I didn't know people visited that site from here. It is clearly steel and painted white. There were holes for bolts to be placed in too. I didn't look under, I saw through a hole.

Some people were talking about VertiGo. I saw the gravestone for it when I was there this weekend. I don't remember it and I was wondering what it was.

Vertigo was:

It was right next Magnum and installed in 2002. One of its towers collapsed before the 2003 season so it was removed.

Did they ever find out why the tower collapsed? I know it was in the off-season so I was wondering what they discovered.

I think it had to do with a crack that started underground (cold temps/water in the area) in January and eventually split all the way down (up) the pipe and hit the tower, which split the base, which made it fall.

No offence rollerdude but you don't honestly believe that these are catwalks, do you?

They're parts for scaffolding......:) *** Edited 10/4/2005 1:30:18 AM UTC by TTD 120mph***

Can someone update me? I haven't been online in a while because of no internet. It's been killing me!! Anyway though, those look like Ladders, even though thats a stupid comment, thats what it looks like. And when did those pipes arrive?

DBCP

Having seen the pieces in question myself, I would definately say that they are parts of scafolding.
Shawn: The pvc/pipes (conduit) arrived around 2.5 weeks ago or so.

It's scaffolding. You can see the supports for it leaning against the fence in the background.

And frankly, anyone who doesn't believe that CP is getting a Screamin' Swing for 2006 wouldn't know a roller coaster if they were standing under it.

Spence is right about the scaffolding. There are 3 different pieces that make up the scaffolding and you can see all 3 in the 2nd picture on this page. They can kinda look like ladders, but on one side of them is a board that you walk on.

In regards to the underground electrical pvc, i first spotted the pvc under the CCMR exit walkway on 9-17-05. Then on 9-24 I saw the 3 additional bundles of pvc next to the exit walkway.

Why would Cedar Point build a Screamin' Swing if there are markers far away from each other e.g. Millennium Island and Meanstreak?

Because no one has clue exactly what the markings are for, they could be for anything. It could be for a new ride, but more likely, most of them are for just little improvements like bathrooms and plumbing and electrical stuff.

I guess that stuff is for a scaffolding but it kind of looked like the catwalks on TTD. Thanks for the info on VertiGo.

hopefully tomorrow we get some sort of update. i do find it entertaining that T & T have made a point to downplay everything brought up here.

I know this is way off the current chatter, but i would personally like to see a Deja Vu type coaster in 2006/2007
