Yeah, but we should be seeing more markings or something. Tree markings, land markings, dirt piles ;), etc, etc.
I too have had thoughts of them hiding track pieces in a storage building...but I have my doubts about it. Like, how come nobody has spotted storage trucks? Are they coming late.... very late at night or something?
I guess we're just going to have to wait and see.
There are marking and dirt piles. Check out Point Xtreme for the markings by CCMR and SRF. There were dirt piles on Millennium Island. Remember the thread, Dirt piles on Millennium Island,?
And ones that are much more obvious.......like "OMG!! Look at those bright [insert color] markings all over the place, they're everywhere!!"
You get the picture....

That black and red one could be called "the devil" or "Ride of the Demon", haha.
What if, instead of a coaster, we got a ton of flat rides like a Giant Frisbee, a Screamin Swing, a couple Matterhorn-esque rides, etc. They could market it as "a new step for the whole family" or something...
1) The GP complained about a ride called "Banshee" I don't see them being too keen on a ride called "The Devil".
2) We got a giant Frisbee last year (but I see where you're going with the idea). I have to disagree with the matterhorn-esque idea though. We've already got a couple of them, don't need more. Wouldnt' mind a Giant TopSpin though.
Goodbye MrScott
John
But "The Devil"s not really a sign of death, as opposed to Banshee... right? ;)
Personally, I wouldn't mind if CP didn't get a new ride for the next couple of years, let alone for the next. We already have enough, IMO.

I hope I never have this dream again. But last night I dreamed Cedar Point took out Wicked Twister and Disaster Transport to make room for a new coaster. I was really upset over it in my dream. When I woke up I realized Wicked Twister was still with us. That would totally be the wrong ride to remove. Anyway I"m going up there again on Wednesday so I"ll know for sure I was dreaming. Although maybe I'll see a sign on Disaster Transport saying sold...lol.
lol......But very unlikely since Cedar Point already said that none of the coasters are for sale.
Who knows, maybe they had their fingers crossed.;)
P.S.-See you Wednesday at CP Shawn.:)

Actually, CP doesn't make any of the coasters. They show the designers the plot(s) of land they want to use and what type of coaster they want and the manufacturers do the rest. I'm sure they have a little hand in the design;i.e height desired, number of inversions, but not much more than that.

Yeah...I'm gonna have to go and disagree with you there...

The park knows exactly what will be going into the layouts. One of the jobs of their planning and development department is to work closely with the coaster firms to make sure everything they want in the ride is there, and within their budget. It's not like the coaster designers get all the specified requirements in and then have a field day with the rest of the layout on NoLimits.

They brought a smile to my face, thank you
I've wondered why CP stayed away from motion simulator attractions. The Hanna Barbera "ride" at Universal Orlando was exceptionally good and not really scary - good for kids but still fun for adults.
They could have a theme where you board a spaceship in Ohio and fly to Alaska....
Just say no to trims
Hey tip that sounds familiar...kind of like that roller coaster in a box called Disastor Transport.
I think they would have SOME help in planning the ride layout. Otherwise it could take forever if the designers just got a "we would like to see..." list. They may never hit the "right" ride that way.
"Ive got the need, the need for speed!"
I know what will arrive for 2006. It will be a record breaking (insert roller coaster type here) that will be 512 feet tall, 146mph, and have 13 inversions. The station will be right up front where Demon Drop will be removed from. It will extend all the way into the back of the park, but not before making a landing of Millennium Force island, and it will fly all around Frontier Town. Crowds will gather all around the park watching the coaster in action.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
**Does some fast calculations**
...nope the physics don't check out. I call shenanigans!
Now if you factored in the 88 foot deep underground tunnel...;)

I really don't think CP needs another coaster at this time. Something like a "new water ride in Frontier Town" would be cool. Either a new, heavily themed state-of-the-art log flume, or give WWL its much deserved over haul.
Anyone who says WWL should be removed to make way for a flyer coaster needs their head examined. I recently visited CP on a Saturday, and let me tell you.....the queue for WWL was filled completely.

Not that it isn't a popular ride. Because I do enjoy WWL. But a big part of the reason WWL's queue was full, is because it's capacity was cut in half when they shutdown part of the chute because of the accident last year.

I remeber back in 02 by WT they had Flight Simulator for the Airforce. I think it was only there for a weekend but it looked cool.

Wait, I thought it was vegetables;)? I'll have to duck, also, since I agree that Cedar Point has plenty of rides to keep me happy. I mean, with all the stuff to do at Cedar Point, I never go bored on my annual trips. A new ride would be nice, but I think some park improvements (including Soak City) would be well worth not getting a new ride. Spend a few million on renovating the park, trying to make it even more of a memoriable (sp) place.

Yah, that was my undertone. Ha.
I've thought about the motion simulator ride before, I think it'd be great but a little gimmicky. They could change the show every season or whatever to get repeat visitors, but like I said it might turn out a little cheesy.
