If CP gets a flying coaster thats nice only one though. That way we have more room for other rides in the future. If CP get 2 flying coasters i dont think we will see a 500 footer in 07. 2 flying coasters cost alot to build (over 25 million) and lots of time to make. So lets just hope we can atleast 1 flying coaster. If we get 2 flying coasters and in 07 we get 500 footer well then i was wrong and they made alot of money in 06.
( lets hope for a new ride and lots of money).
Something interesting I just saw on Vekoma's site, they have a concept of a 10 inversion coaster. This thing has a small footprint and is launched instead of having a lift hill. Just another idea for what CP could build instead of WWL and the cars. Even more interesting is that this concept is on an island that is similar to Millenium Island in one of the pictures. *** Edited 7/31/2005 6:59:18 PM UTC by SFGA=toilet***
I don't think we need any more launching, I think CP needs to get back to lift hills.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
Why do you all of you think CP should get a new coaster? Sure it would be nice, but I think CP is fine the way it is. I mean How can you complain that 16 coasters and (68?) rides isn't enough?

They get more coasters so then they have more coasters than SFMM. Duh! Do the math. More coaster + More people = more fun and more money for more coasters.
tophat - How do you know the PB count?
My comment - 10 inversions would be vehde vehde awzum. Raptor has 6, and already feels like it's constantly switching up/down. 10 would be pretty niice..
Oh by the way, I woulda posted this over in page 20 but I wasn't home from about page 15 to now..
I've ridden Raging Bull, that coaster is amazing. It was on a school trip, and it was easily everyone's favorite ride there (with Batman and Vertical Velocity following). The speed of a hyper combined with the elements of a twister isn't really something that CP has to offer yet (although some MF turns are cool). I personally would not be disappointed at all if that's what their new ride is.

Competition isn’t everything jkoaster.
Sure, I want CP to have more coasters than SFMM, but I also want CP to keep in mind that having more coasters doesn’t mean that you’re the best park in the world. SFMM could get 17 coasters by next year, but that doesn’t mean squat if they can’t keep up on them and the park.
Cedar Point on the other hand is the best at doing this. Even at running a mechanical monster like Dragster.
Now look at SFMM and X (along with some of the others)...;)

I don't think CP will get a 500 footer, because it would be the exact same thing as Dragster thus rendering Dragster useless.

No it wouldn’t!
Was Millennium deemed useless when Dragster debuted?!
I don't think so!
And how would a 500 footer be the exact same thing as Dragster? Is it going to be a launch coaster? Is it going to have the same designs? Will Intamin be building it?
Sorry scttmn31, but don’t start jumping to such conclusions.

Do you really mean it? Becuase it's at the the bottom of the CP Place page.

I live a half hour away from SF:GA where Raging Bull is located. Its a very good ride, but I dont think a hyper would fit with the coaster lineup unless it gets mad air and 80mph early and about 50mph at the end. I have ridden Raging Bull 2 days after a visit to CP, although it is super smooth it just seems tame compaired with Magnum despite the same speed and height(I wont compair it to MF becuase thats a class above all other rides). But , if CP can get a good track design to complement the great trains on a wide hyper twister car, they could make a good ride.
I think a Huss Topple Tower would be a great addition to Frontier Land. It could fit in the spot where numerous constrution markings have been seen and would be a real draw to that area of the park.

They need to burn any hydraulic launch system proposed to them after the whole TTD fiasco. But LIMs and LSMs are pretty reliable now and could be used in the next coaster to save precious land. *** Edited 8/1/2005 3:40:07 AM UTC by SFGA=toilet***
Actually, LIM and LSM systems take more land/space to reach a speed comparible to say a hydraulic launch.
One of the things that has been specifically cited as appealing to CP about the hydraulic launch idea was the space conservation.
yeah, but just remember all the crap that happened with TTD. And right now Kingda Ka has been closed for months thanks to a wonderfully crappy hydraulic launch system.
The point of using LSMs and LIMs is that there is no lift hill which will save space, just look at how long this LIM launch is, and it goes 60mph(its the yellow tunnel because LIMs cant get wet).

You dont need TTD speed for this ride just 60-70mph, and I'm sure that CP doesnt want to deal with the reliability nightmare of a hydraulic launch. *** Edited 8/1/2005 5:45:25 AM UTC by SFGA=toilet*** *** Edited 8/1/2005 5:49:19 AM UTC by SFGA=toilet***
KK's shutdown was in no way shape or form related to the hydraulic launch engine. A piece of liner from the catch-car track broke loose.
And how are LIMs more reliable? It seems for the last 4 seasons, WT has experienced extended down time resulting from problems with its launch system. I love WT, its one of my top 5 coasters at the park, but it's definitely not up there on reliability.
Goodbye MrScott

Really? I personally can't think of any WT downtime besides the recent one.
Oh and tophat, I knew that *smacks forehead* :)

WT never breaks down when I am there, yesterday it was running great. However, TTD broke down a lot and didn't even open for Joe Cool.
Instead of LIM i say CP should get a LSM reverse freefall. They have room for it. Put it on millennium island, theres room there for a double racing one. People here want a double flying coaster. Well its a double LSM coaster.
Hey and maybe we can even have Snoopy at the top standing parallel to the ground ready to greet the riders as they approach the top.
Goodbye MrScott
