The article says, "Kinzel and the seven-member board were in Muskegon today for one of six yearly meetings."
I don't think it's suspicious that they're up there.
I do. They've owned the park now for years and this is the first I've heard of this type of gathering. Maybe it's a change in CF vision, maybe it's gonna be a change in MiAdv.
We'll just have to wait and see.

There may indeed be something big coming to Michigan, but these meetings are pretty standard fare.
I was in Muskegon back in June, and Decker, Kinzel and some others were at the park. I even said something to Decker later on in the week, and he was surprised I knew about them being there. :)
The board already approved cap ex for next year, before the MiA visit. The love they're getting is already in motion.

I was at MiA today with my family and we saw about 12 people in suits walking through the waterpark during the rain. I guess it was the CedarFair board members.
My:
#1 Steel- Millenium Force
#1 Wood- Shivering Timbers
Here's some news on the subject: http://www.mlive.com/news/muchronicle/index.ssf?/base/news-7/1121959254116530.xml&coll=8
It says, towards the bottom, that MiAdv has 300 acres available to expand with!! That's alot of room!!
Heck, Cedar Point is 300 acres!!

Oh, there's no doubt they've got the space. Its been the loving that they've been in need of. Jeff is right though, whatever they are getting next year is already decided. I as well hope it involves steel. I love their wood coasters and everything, but they REALLY need some steel.
Goodbye MrScott

I was looking at some coasters at RCDB and thought that this kind of coaster would be cool for MiAdv to get:http://www.screamscape.com/html/euro-fighter_9.htm
But I also want a hyper.
I also want to show this new screenshot of this new coaster from RCT3-Wild!: http://www.3dgamers.com/screenshots/games/rollerctycoon3w/415695/
It almost looks like intamins version of the 4th dimension coaster......except this one splits! *** Edited 7/22/2005 9:08:37 PM UTC by TTD 120mph***

^Sure, those look fun, but MIA needs a quality B&M, they're reliable rides and always a crowd favorite. A prototype coaster is the last thing they need, same with CP.

Regarding that design on the new RCT expansion...WTF, mate? They haven't put other imaginery coaster designs in the game before, have they? That isn't a new design Intamin gotten patented, is it?

TTD 120mph, that first one looks like a higher-end dive tower, that actually has some stuff after it. If you go to the right a couple, there's one that really shows it good, with the seats and everything.

2010 - Season pass holder.
Gomez,
I agree with ya, a B&M would be best.
GeeForce,
that one coaster is a Gerstlauer Eurofighter. There's Typhoon at Bobbejaanland : http://www.rcdb.com/ig2229.htm
And Vild Svinet at BonBon-Land: http://www.rcdb.com/ig2163.htm
The one I showed was a new design for easy take-apart traveling. The 2 above are permanents. *** Edited 7/22/2005 9:54:19 PM UTC by TTD 120mph***

Well, the best thing for MiA, as some people already said in one way or another, is a solid steel coaster. I mean, look at MF, it's five years old and it still has one of the longest queue lines at the point. Mangum is just about the same age as I am, and yet it's ranked #2 in the world. Rides like Wicked Twister were cool for first time riders, or for the first year, but after only a few years, lines for it has died. Still, it's hard to picture MiA with a gigantic coaster like MF, even Magnum for that matter.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.
Magnum had the same sized lines MF has all the way up until MF was built. So unless they build a coaster taller than MF WITH an actual layout, it will most likely always have long lines. Wicked Twister never really got much of a long line even in its debut season.
In regards to what MiA will get, It would seem that the Cedar Fair coaster plan for their parks is to first add a hyper, which are always successful, and then after they recoup their investment they add an invert. From there, the additions are then dependent upon what's best for the park. With that said, I think that they may possibly skip the hyper since Shivering Timbers already provides the same sensations a hyper would. So I wouldn't be surprised if we see MiA get an invert for next year.

Oh, I didn't know that about long lines at Magnum, but it makes sense. I'm such a newbie.

Wicked Twister has lines. With maXair now, I waited a half hour for WT. It depends when you ride. MF has long lines partly because of its popularity and partly because it has a very poor capacity due to the fact that the train needs to go from the lift to the brakes before the next one can leave.
I think MiA could use an extremely tall Power Tower. *** Edited 7/23/2005 4:32:04 AM UTC by Westside7th***
