That would be insanely awesome... if it was possible. From what I hear (and S:UF, which I've ridden) flyers are slow. I personally know that something like Superman:Ultimate Flight could never pull itself up over a cobra roll.
Good idea though.
Well, seems like all I've been doing is saying "good idea!" then countering it, so I think I'll throw out my own idea.
I think Cedar Point should build a

simulator ride. Like that brain one at Epcot, or those little spaceship things you see sometimes at big arcades. But... a HUGE one. Like... Mission Space huge. Plus, it would take up nearly no room, solving the footprint problem, and they can be pretty intense if you do it right.
Oh and I know about the kid on M:S, so don't use that to counter my idea ;)

Badnitrus once modeled a flyer that did a version of a cobra roll. He modeled it when only Vekoma had a flyer model available. It went into the element with the riders on their backs, then it did the half loop, but instead of doing a half corkscrew it just did a banking turn of 180 degrees and then another half loop. So it resembled the cobra roll, but wasn't completely similar.
Unfortunately he hasn't updated his site in a while, and that's one of the models he didn't put back up after switching site hosts.

Has anyone been on Indiana Jones Simulator at USH? I went on it a long time ago, but it was awesome.

Got any clues for us yet on this one, Jeff? :)
Huh. I guess I did know what was going on that year. See, I don't always talk out of my ass.
I wouldn't get really excited about anything in 2006. Honestly I don't have a lot of information and I've been pretty horrible about keeping in touch with People Who Know(TM) this year on account of work. Still, I don't think 2006 will be a huge year.

i think that they will be build a huss frisbee ;)
seriously though, in 06 i would doubt seeing another B&M or a Screamin squriell
lol at that one Cp_Bound (from 7/19/05 @ 7:23 pm), but you are right, in your previous post, that Kinzel is VERY tight about revealing rides for future years. Didn't they work on TTD for something like 4 years before ever revealing it?
I think a simulator ride like Spiderman at Islands of Adventure would be cool. It could be put in the old pirate ride building.
speaking of which, is that building even beeing used for anything? storage maybe?

Yeah. They keep candy canes, signs, gum freeze and other cool things in there. And Sky Ride crew Texas Hold 'em tournaments on windy days. ;)
They should put something by the Mean Streak or the Blue Streak. Neither one has had anything new for awhile and both areas are boring. The new ride would attract crowds. It'd be kinda cool if they put ride the a Top Spin inside the Mean Streak. Take out some of the queues and it'd fit just perfect. I can't really think of any other ways to fit a ride across the tracks by MS.
Who says it has to be across the tracks? As long as it is back in Frontier Town it should pull some people back there at least for awhile.
And putting rides inside of rides isn't the best idea in real life. Espically since you will be drawing people back to MS, meaning that they made need more line space. *** Edited 7/21/2005 3:34:33 AM UTC by FluffyliketheForce***
"Ive got the need, the need for speed!"
A ride inside on Mean Streak may not be very popular. The general public probably doesn't even know that there is a lot of excess space in there. maXair was built right off the Main Midway, quite visible but something inside of Mean Streak wouldn't be visible at all so people might not even know it's there.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
If CP puts a flat ride in Frontier Town it would be a quick fix and only last a few years. But if they put in a coaster it might be a more permanent fix to the amount of crowds back there.

101 on Magnum and counting...
I think they need to work on their kids' area, even though I don't have any. It seems to me that is where the park lacks the most. At least kiddie kingdom. Nothing but a bunch of flats that are practically identical.
I still don't understand why CP wouldn't spend a couple million and turn Mean Streak into a #1 wood coaster that deserves to be at Cedar Point.
Also, my thought on new coasters: CP shouldn't build a new coaster until they learn that a new coaster doesn't have to break the speed and height record to be marketable.
Go right through for MSU!
Mean Streak WAS a number 1 coaster when it was introduced. It was the modifications that were made to keep it from destroying itself that have caused it to not be what it should be. Those first hill trims are the BANE of this ride.

From the following article linked from this website:
"The board already has approved its 2006 capital investment plan for new rides and attractions throughout its system of amusement and water parks," Kinzel said.
Michigan's Adventure undoubtedly will receive some attention in the 2006 capital investment budget, but Kinzel said specific items for Muskegon will not be announced until the entire plan is unveiled some time after Labor Day.
It doesn't say that announcements for other parks wouldn't be made sooner, but it looks like we have about 6-1/2 weeks to go before we know anything official.

I'm happy about Michigan Adventure getting some attention! I hope they get something good next year!

My guess for MiAdv?
An upscale campground (with cabins and cottages the same, or similar, to the ones at CP).
That'll be one of the first things that they do (maybe a sit down restaurant, too). Make MiAdv a destination, where people stay more than an afternoon. That said, the park needs to add more to do to make that happen.
The water deal will hopefully be over this month. Many of Cedar Fair's top execs are in Muskegon today--including Kinzel. Something's up.
I just hope it's steel...along w/the above.
