$3 soda = criminal

I for one will not pay $3.00 for a pop. It is down right wrong! I just hope the beer prices haven't gone up.
When I went Monday)May 13th) I did not see any one person buying a $3.00 pop from those vending machines...perhaps it was because it was cold and rainy and no one was hot or thirsty, well not thirsty enough to pay $3,but I for one would NOT pay that much for a 20oz pop,no matter how thirsty I am,well maybe if it was 100 degrees out and the lines for cheaper beverages were 10 hours long, perhaps then I would consider buying it. :)

At the turn of the Millenium......there were signs...

I have yet to see many if any people buying from the machines after 3 visits.

I have heard a lot of people complain about the price after they walk by the machines.

I heard a complaint today that the machines don't take $5 bills. The person could not buy pop because all they had was large bills. I only wish I was in that situation.

I just wish I had $5!

And.. I STILL cannot believe my brother bought a $3 soda.

I can't see Pepsi letting go all of that revenue on the bottled drinks. I could understand a dramatic price cut because of the volume. But really, what does the company have to gain by giving the product to the park?? Loyalty? HA It just doesn't make sense for Pepsi, unless of course the park is paying full price on the bag in a box.

ANd the point on Holliday World is that even at the bargin rate of 75 cents for a 20 oz beverage would generate a bunch of revenue and still make them look like gods to all of us consumers. Pop is the easiest of easy money for a park and it shows what Holiday World is about when they let that go.

By the way i think the 3 bucks is highway robery too; but then again it fits into the markets cost range for entertainment venues...

Wow! Some bargain...at a saving of .0032 cents an ounce! What a deal! The unit price per ounce hardly changes. That's $2.35 for 16 ounces, not 20. Besides, if you're thirsty in line, it won't help you to have to buy one at a stand if you have 45 minutes to wait...

Wow, one minute his post is there - and then it was gone! :) Guess he pondered his statement a bit! :)

If you buy th 20oz from a stand though it's only $2.75. You save an extra 1.25 cents per oz. Wohoo!

But that is more than offset for by filling the cup halfway with ice! ;)

Today was my third trip this year, and the first time I've seen anyone buy a pop. It was just one guy, and he walked away with his pop, grumbling about the price.

I am happy they came to their senses (somewhat) and lowered the price to $2.50. Although that is still outragoeus and I will never buy one. The free water is awesome, and they better not start charging for that!!
Haha, I remember seeing the reaction on this womans face on Sunday. She had just purchased some fries and I think 3 cokes *ahem* Pepsi's for her family. Then my friend and myself ask for the ice water, and asks me if the water is free. Heh, she seemed pretty surprised about that ^_^

Actually I sold that pop in the Millennium Force Que Line an we made major profits throughout the park for 3 dollars a bottle.

What is CP's policy about bringing stuff into the park? I'm sure the "official" policy is that it's not allowed but do they check your belongings or anything?

During a recent shopping trip I found bagged water, in the same section as bagged and boxed juices and an idea flashed through my head about filling a small insulated bag, like the ones they make for baby bottles, with frozen bags of water then I wondered, if you could do water then why not juice? Then get a locker in a somewhat convenient spot, fill it with these frozen drinks and come back throughout the day. But then you have the locker fees so you'd have to really make it worth your while I guess.

But the vending machines have gone down from $3 to $2.50, is that correct? Not that it's any better...but every little bit helps.

Ha....Almost 7 years later and still $3

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Did we really need to bump this? I know someone did post this thread in another thread but come on.

Did you really have to make a smart remark about it?

I was going to start a thread on the crazy $3 soda's, and saw this thread and reserected it. Would you rather me start a new one?

I wouldnt be surprised if they raise the prices soon... I have seen places worse than $3 so i say its only a matter of time....

I have never, and never will pay $3 for a soda. It's all about the free water for me when I am at the park.

If the prices of soda were like they are anywhere else, I would buy them. I always buy 2 liter bottles of pop at home, and never pay more than $1.50. I don't understand why the are charging that much for a pop, when they are paying nothing or next to nothing for the pepsi.

There is a differance between making a profit and ripping people off.
