$3 soda = criminal

All very good ideas. These Cedar Point summertime routines are getting me all excited.

That's what I do a lot. I buy the koolaid packets and just add water. Much cheaper than park drinks.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Crystal Light man. You do not need high fructose corn syrup, 56 grams of sugar, and 140 calories.

Plus soda is bad for your teeth.

Crystal light you can carry in your sack with you at the point. It doesn't matter if its warm, you just go ask for a cold glass of water and pour the crystal in there, or pour the cup (or two) of water to get your water bottle full.

You cannot carry soda around in the park brought from outside.

But Crystal Light is not a soda, it is a portable powder. So its kind of a gray area, but its low in calories and you can carry it anywhere.

It also contains aspartame, which has been proven to be unhealthy for your brain. Water is really the better way to go for hydration.

I have always taken in soda in my purse, and never had any problem. I usually take in the same size container that they sell in the park, and Diet Pepsi, so the park thinks I bought it there.

I have to complain then make my peace. $3 soda from the vending machine is not only a total rip-off, but insulting. What the hell are they thinking? Maybe it's just because I know they pay little or nothing for the soda, but $3?

They pay nothing.

Well of course they pay something. Pepsi doesn't give it away for free. I assume you were being figurative? As in, they pay next to nothing for each individual soda?

And factory81 was referring to the rule that says you cannot bring in outside food/beverages (aside from water?). But it is true that the laws of physics will not prevent you from bringing something in illegally.

I used to sneak iced tea powder into the movies as a kid. Got made fun of until we got to college and all my friends' parents stopped paying their bills.

Anyone else remember when you could buy a 12 or 16 ounce hard plastic cup with a handle (made by "Super Mug" if I remember right) and get it refilled all day? I was young, but I don't remember paying for refills. I've still got a pile of the cups. Most of the decals are gone, but they still get regular use.

Do they regularly stop people from bringing outside beverages into the park? I often bring my own pop or water and nothing has ever been said. I didn't know it was against the rules.

I remember seeing people during May on field trips bring in lunch bag's into the park, and I do remember buying a mountain dew from a machine for 3 dollars I don't plan on doing that ever again! not worth it.

If you think that's bad about three bucks, Kings Island has bottles of pop for 3.25 and 3.50 I think from last year, and when I went to the Kentucky Speedway they had pop for over three bucks. And they don't let anyone bring in food or drinks.

The car is pretty close. We just toss some beer in the cooler and keep it in the trunk. When we need a break we just slip out to the car, turn on the AC (or heat of it Halloweekends and/or opening day), and voila. No need to be sneaky or worry about someone making me throw it away.

That is a load of crap, it has not been proven anywhere. Aspartame is two amino acids, aspartic acid and phenylalanine. Amino acids are the building blocks of protein, your body whither you drink diet soda or not has loads of phenylalanine and aspartic acid floating around. Also, every where in your body there are molecules that break apart the bond between amino acids that should not be joined. The only time that aspartame "hurts" the brain is when an individual who has a genetic disorder that causes them to not be able to metabolize phenylalanine drinks it at a young age. Too much phenylalanine poisions the brain and leads to learning disablities and even possibly death. Thankfully, every baby born in this country is screened for this extremely rare disease. If you arent one of those few, aspartame is nothing more then a really short protein.

I usually don't have a problem bringing my own drinks anywhere. I always brought a vitamin water with me last year to CP. The last time I got stopped for it was about 5 years ago at an Akron Aeros game.

Well that settles it. On Opening Day, I'm going to try and walk through with my beer hat. I mean, if I had a beer hat.

Aspartame tastes like ass, as does Crystal Light. Water works just fine.

Totally agree with you Jeff. I can not stand the taste of fake sugar. Everyone around me says it taste like regular sugar but not to me. As when I take a drink with the fake stuff I immediately have to spit it out or need to rinse the taste out with a real sugar drink. Even that so called Splenda that everyone says taste like sugar still has that nasty after taste.
