What makes you say that?
Did you see the part where I noted the park is under new management? Or that I thought, that under that new management, a dark ride's effects might be maintained?
I apologize for being optimistic.

As for a log flume, as much as I do love them, seeing CP remove both of the ones they had, for rides significantly better, then STR which offered a similar experience to a log flume, makes me think odds are they won't be bringing back another one. CPs tight on land, and to bring back a ride they've had 3 of, while possible, seems rather unlikely.
The original Shoot the Rapids was in service for 15 years, WWL was in service for 23 years, and Mill Race was in service for 30 years. These rides weren't removed due to being unpopular. They had, for the most part, just reached the end of their useful lives.
And CF just put a lot of love and money into the 47-year old flume at Knott's.
Also, CP isn't running out of land.

No. I was asking what made you think the new management would maintain it well? Not why you thought it could be done. Because overall the new management has done a fabulous job at maintaining their parks, but not so great at some small details like special effects.
2018- Raptor
CP Top 5- 1)MF 2) Maverick 3) Gatekeeper 4) Top Thrill Dragster 5) Raptor
Ah. Okay.
They are doing a fabulous job. They are also doing a yuge job. Sometimes details are going to get lost in the mix. I'm willing to give the new management the benefit of the doubt that a special effects-less Disaster Transport won't happen under their watch

I mean I don't think there's any denying the fact CP is tight on space.
Cedar Point has been "tight on space" since the early 1990s.
Rob Decker knows what he's doing in this regard. They only seem to be tight on space because we don't have the vision of what rides are going to be taken out to accommodate new rides or interesting ways they can play with the space they have.
It's not a fact. It's an opinion.
Exactly.
The CP market is what it is, and can only support so many rides. CP has a ton of rides already, so in most cases when something new is added, something is removed. This isn't due to space limitations, but rather limitations on what the market can support as well as the fact that all rides have a finite life.

Well obviously they have to take out rides to accommodate new ones. It's more of is it worth removing something like CCMR to make room for something like a flume. Although I wouldn't mind seeing Dinosaurs Alive replaced with something like a flume.
There are a couple things I'd like to see for that middle section of the park if they could do it.
I'd hope to see the paddle wheels make a comeback someday, I really enjoy the Sky Ride and Railroad.
The paddlewheel ride was such a signature CP ride that I hope it makes a comeback also. Granted, Paddlewheel Excursions was just a shell of the former Western Cruise but it was still fun. I'd actually like for them to bring it back as Western Cruise and expand it a bit by digging channels for the boats in the dinosaur island area. They can have a loop in there and then reenter the main channel, to make for a nice long ride.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Ya know, that fellow who created the awesome No Limits GCI style ride for that spot very thoughtfully included the boats crossing under the ride. Just as it should be.
We rode the Western Cruise and its various subsequent versions every year since 1963. It was always a favorite and I would rejoice at its return.
From my first visit in 1973, the Cruise was one of the must-do rides. Among the other must-do rides: Rotor, Mill Race, Jumbo Jet (once I was tall enough) and the Funhouse.

The fact they took this out to accommodate a Dinosaur-themed walk through still boggles my mind.
Amount made off each guest to board a Paddlewheel Excursions boat: $0
Amount made off most guests to enter Dinosaurs Alive: $5
I'm no fan of the dinosaurs. The only time I even saw the things was at an ACE event in (I think) 2012; we were given access to the island to take photos of Millennium Force -- but were told that if it somehow happened that we somehow found ourselves wandering down the paths past the dinosaurs....
Anyways: I get the appeal of upcharge attractions to the corporation.

As far as being tight on space, i noted in another thread that there is a lot of wasted space on queue lines that have not seen anyone standing in them for many years now. There is a lot of real estate to be reclaimed and reused all over the park. Best example is at Power Tower. The area to the right of Matterhorn is all being wasted.
I know is not a lot of room, but it would help from an aesthetic perspective to build small facilities on sites like this to store food carts and drink carts rather than to leave them strewn about underneath Corkscrew. For example.
You know I always wondered if Power Towers queue space was ever really necessary with how large it is. Maybe during its first couple of season, but I've never seen the ride with more than a walk on. I just figured maybe on weekends or holidays it might, but I never visit on those days. Would be nice to see them used for something more.
The queues are designed To accommodate their busiest days of the year, and those are coming up really soon.
Also, power tower queues were redone a few years ago, they obviously took into account then what was necessary.
New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus
We'll see. I've been at the park about 20 different times this season- all different times of day and different days of the week. Pretty much always the same situation with unused queues.
During Halloweekends those queues will be used especially during Columbus Day weekend with several of those queues spilling out onto the midway.
