They are also all chipped up as is the new curvy concrete bench. I always notice these things. These are hard to miss. I hope they patch them up. I'll be watching for whatever it's worth.

How about the broken clock on the train station? Can't hide behind the white screen anymore.

Ok, yesterday was my first time back to CP in about 9-10 years. I grew up close and always had season passes. Now I have a 6 year old, so this year we have platinum passes. Maybe I'm just spoiled now with our annual trips to Disney World, but I was pretty disappointed in the maintenance of the park yesterday, specifically in the restrooms. They were absolutely disgusting and filthy. Hard to believe this could happen so quickly when the park just opened. The ladies room stalls were visibly smeared with something that looked and smelled like feces around 11am yesterday. Now, I noticed an employee "cleaning" but it appeared she was doing the absolute minimum. Several other restrooms were very messy and needed some serious attention as well.

That leads me to my next point... The employees need some serious training. My son got a little scrape on his shin yesterday and after going to 3 different gift shops trying to BUY a band aid (shops do not sell or have any handy and employees are clueless as to where to find one) we finally were directed to a first aid center after asking a cedar point police officer. While it is great that they have a first aide center, guests shouldn't have to walk and walk and walk with a bloody shin when they could easily SELL some in each gift shop. Also, the employees shouldn't answer "I don't know, sorry" when asked.

I understand it's not Disney and maybe CP can't afford all the exquisite maintenance and cleanliness as Disney, but maybe CP could take a couple pointers to give their guests a better experience. I know some of the restroom facilities are old but that doesn't excuse filth!!!

Blondie,

As a former employee let me tell you that each person trained at CP should know where the first aid is and be able to direct you to it. There are actually two stations in the park and they should be able to get you to either easily. Furthermore, employees are trained not to say "I don't know, sorry" and that if we don't know the answer we should be able to help you find someone who does and not to leave you until we do. I can tell you that I followed that every day I worked there and that unfortunately it's not on CP's training, it's on the employees themselves. I'm sorry you had a bad experience.

I guess employee training varies. Saturday (opening day) I wanted to by some Advil (partying the night before) at the Pagoda shop. They didn't have the product but the store clerk immediately directed me to first aid, where they gave me some for free.

I'm here now, and Wave Swinger is dismantled.

I was wondering if that was recent dismantling, or they just haven't finished putting it back together. I know some years it doesn't open up at the beginning of the year, but never have I seen it that apart.

It was running this weekend.

this leaves me very sad then. Wonder what happened.

How am I going to dry off after Thunder Canyon?

Could they be relocating it? I can't imagine where it would be going...

I'm guessing it's maintence since nothing has been announced and it's only a few days after opening day.

Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!

but it's dismantled entirely. Only thing left is the Pillar. Everything else is organized next to it minus the chairs.

^That is what they do for winter. Sounds like they are either removing it or the center mast needs work.

Ouimet strolling through the park: "Why is this stupid carnival swing ride here when there is that 301 foot one over there? I want it gone today! This would make an excellent light pillar for my show." ;)

Before anyone takes offense, it's a joke. :) Now this actually sounds like some sort of mechanical issue. I'd at least hope the park doesn't plan to open rides and then tear them down a few days later on a regular basis. If it's not back soon, I'm just going to start giving every ride at CP flowers to be safe.

Kinzel removed trees, Ouimet removes rides...hmmm....;)

I know the center mast had work done on it this winter. Maybe during inspection they found something like a weld that had broke. I don't know why else you would remove everything to get to the center mast unless they are either removing the entire ride or the mast itself has a problem.

The chipped brown is not how those things will be finished. You will see a nice blue stucco coating that will cover the imperfections.

Blondie, it sounds like you had a uniquely bad experience. I was actually floored by our visit this week (Mon-Wed).

What blew me away was the food service. We were at the "Fresh-Cut" fry stand near Gemini (Well, really near Snoopy Bounce from our daughter's perspective), and not only was the employee (Nicole) wonderfully nice, she was energetic, and QUICK. In fact, the guys in the back were laughing and busting their behinds as the fry orders were flying in (nearly everyone, including us, was going for the platinum-pass fry deal). We had a mirrored quick, enjoyable experience at the gourmet pretzel stand..

That said, huge improvement with the fries this year. I actually enjoyed my food at Cedar Point for the first time in I don't know how long.
