Before 2012 season even starts!? Haha awesome
It is a pretty normal occurance around here. Haha!
Glad to see the trusses on-site though, vertical construction of the stage should be pretty quick.
R.I.P. Mr. Scott
my guess is one of the main reasons for starting late will be simply a matter of rehearsals, the performers and designers will need AT LEAST a week of Tech before opening the show. and this is smart don't roll out a show that's going to not be ready no one wants to see dancers and singers than don't know their marks to stand in their lighting or even worse if there's large moveable set piece (like the dancer riding out on a motorcycle to open the show) could be quite dangerous not only to performers but audience as well, look at "Spider Man Turn off the Dark" ok maybe that's a bad example because, that more just a show trying to take on WAY more them it should have. Maybe a better example would be the Bay Watch show at Sea World? That show ran for a long time and ended badly. so let them take there time getting the show ready.
Halloweekends Screamster!
Fear Faire 2010-2011
I pray that they dont get Paul F'n junior or his dad making a stupid bike and unveiling it as a show.

There was also mention of opening up the view of the beach and that CP with get $25 million in cap ex next year.
Well color me excited! :)
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
So Kings Island has introduced meal plans for 2012. Anyone think we will see these added to CP as well?
http://www.visitkingsisland.com/tickets/#FD9A3A2B-9FC6-4429-F6CCA3C0E5D4ED8C
Seems like a good value. $9 more than regular adult admission and you get into the park, 1 meal, 1 snack. The menu isn't to shabby for the plan either.
They also have a Backyard BBQ Meal Deal which is an all-you-can-eat picnic style meal. $12.99 in addition to admission.
I do believe it was said that CP is trying to improve the quality of their food, but I'm not sure if I have heard anything about these meal plans yet. I would assume that if we don't see them this year, we will probably see them next year.
Does that Meal Plan include just one meal? Id rather see a Meal Plan along the lines of what Busch offers. It is an extra $29 but it does not limit the amount of food you can get. So if you are in the park all day, all of your meals, snacks and drinks are covered all day long as many times as you want. It is a damn good deal if you plan on being in a Busch park all day.
Seems to be just 1 meal and 1 snack. I was thinking that meals for the full day would be an even better route.
On another 2012 addition....CP just posted a picture of the new lockers.

I feel like anyone could just break into your locker now. I know it isn't all that likely, but anyone could be looking over your shoulder.
^^What was the protocol for people who lost the locker keys? Would they just let you pay for the replacement key and open the locker?
I think you get a receipt with the locker combo on it. So if you loose the receipt, you might be able to re-scan the credit card and look up the combo.

Speaking of lighting, has anyone caught a glimpse of anything turned on and tested in the evening hours? The webcams would catch the Giant Wheel lit up and the Main Midway but we'll have to wait to Millenium Force in its new found glory.
Well vwhoward I happened to be out tonight and caugut a glimpse of the new giant wheel lighting package from across the bay. Here is a video of what I could see.
Sweet. Thanks for the sneek peak Robert.

The only ride that I've seen any movement on is Space Spiral. It's been up and down the tower. TTD and Corkscrew have their trains on the track, from what I can see. But no testing :(
2012: Gemini/Mean Streak
2013: Co-Team Leader of Gemini/Maverick on Halloweekends Fridays
2014: Ride Supervisor of Thunder Canyon/Skyride/GateKeeper on Halloweekends Fridays
2015: Ride Supervisor of Rougarou
I just watched the video from the CEO and he mentioned that they were going to try to have more trains going on the coasters - I really hope this is true. I went two years ago at the end of May and some of the coasters only had 1 or 2 trains going, like Gemini, Magnum, etc. When we went to ride Mean Streak, they only had one train going, so there were only 30 or 40 people waiting in line, but it took 20 minutes to ride. I understand that the park wasn't really busy, but it seemed unnecessary to have only one train going when there is a second one available.
Gemini would have 2 blue cars going, rather than having 1 blue and 1 red. I assume so they have a constant flow, but it kind of took away the point of the racing theme
Is there a reason they do this?
I really like the first 20 second with the traditional light scheme. But after that the new age schemes seem odd to me for a old fashioned ride like a ferris wheel.

I don't know for sure, but this is just my guess. I would think they would only run one side of Gemini because it requires less employees. If you have 2 trains on the blue side, you can run two trains without adding any extra employees. If you wantes to run one blue train and one red train, you would need to double the number of employees.
