^Very true. There is also the offseason to think about as well when it comes to pavers. The park will actually block off all the areas where pavers have been put down so vehicles can't drive over them in the winter. One of the reasons is because they wont plow snow over the pavers in fear of damaging them. If you cover an entire midway with pavers, now that midway is basically shut down all winter to vehicle access.
That does depend on how the pavers are set. To set pavers in a truck-friendly way, you pour a concrete base first and set the pavers on top. With that kind of an installation, very little sand is actually used to hold the pavers. As for snow removal...that's what rotating brushes are for. Likewise, pavers come with a variety of finishes. We are all familiar with the textured brick, but flat surface, and even vitrified surface pavers are also available for a more regular surface.

Check out the webcam....they are moving the bigger booth on the midway. We'll probably start seeing where those are going to end up
Looks like some people are going to have fun getting their cars out today :)
I can't tell from this angle, but it looks like the big booth is almost sitting directly in front of Wildcat's loading platform. Its going to be interesting to see how everything is laid out when it's finished.
What is going to be where the large dirt area is right now on the left of the webcam directly to the left of the small booth?
^I've been racking my brain, going over the blueprints trying to figure it out, and I just can't say for certain. Maybe those squares are LED tiles in the ground? Maybe it's going to be an elevated patio and those squares are tables/chairs? I can't tell if the path leading to the new location of the control booth is separated by something or if they're just outlining it for the sake of clarity. That whole area is just going to have to be a surprise I guess.
Still, it's interesting that they moved the larger control booth. For some reason I thought they'd be re-using the smaller one for Luminosity (maybe they are). I guess they just needed it out of they way to get the concrete trucks and other construction equipment through, since they can't very well drive on that dug up area. It seems they haven't even started prepping it's new location yet; which will need dug up, a foundation poured and wiring done.
I hope the control booths get some TLC. They're odd looking.

It looks to me as if that area will become a raised patio area that will be for VIP seating for the show. Looks as if a small building will be added, probably for food/drink sales.
I believe both booths are being used, just not in the same location.
^Yeah, I initially thought it was the Pepsi Fan Zone but it seems kind of far away from the stage. Not really sure what else it would be though and it'd certainly explain all the construction going on over there.
As for using both booths, the Sandusky Register said just one of them would be moved and the blueprints only show one but plans change and todays journalists aren't what they used to be, so it's possible they could be using both.
I love the addition of Dragster H2O. It is in the shape of a dragster car. (a real top fuel dragster)
Is it just me, or did they re-paint the control booth(s)? I cant seem to tell if it was the same color as before...
Edit: Never mind, haha the color really slipped my mind. But alas, it is the same.

How long does it typically take for a roller coaster to be built in CP? I keep hearing these rumors that there will be a new coaster by 2013, but I feel like we would know something about it. I remember being in the park in May while they were building Maverick for the next year and everyone knew it was a coaster but didn't know what type. So, how long does it take from rumor, to confirmed, to functional?
BTW - I love how they built the fence around the Maverick site with the little peek holes.
Thanks : )
Depends on the size of the project. If anything big is coming in 2013, July or August would be about the time i would expect an announcement, but who knows.
I can't wait for all the pictures of spraypaint and little flags to pop up after opening day, like they do every year ;).
Too bad it wasn't this year, they had excellent weather for building a coaster.

Well, I don't think any vertical construction started on Millennium Force until Sept/Oct of 1999. I don't believe Raptor started vertical until Oct/Nov so I wouldn't judge the size of a project/coaster on when construction starts.
