I don't think Neglegence is asking for the equpiment to be outside. I think he's just asking what goes on inside. I.E. How does it all work. There is an old thread on this somewhere. Does anyone have it saved?
Oh By the way, I captured some images on Tuesday and Wednesday and created a video.

Don't worry about looking for it. I sent Neglegence an explanation via a PM.:)

It's a simple concept. Hydraulic fluid is compressed to a very high pressure. When the train is in position, the advance wheels drop, the train rolls back and locks into the catch car, brakes drop, and the hydraulic fluid is released at its high pressure and powers the hydraulic motors which in turn spin a large drum which winds up two cables connected to the catch car which launches the train.
The terms and what actually happens is much more complicated, but that's the idea.

Hey thanks for the info I actually was joking around when I wrote that but seriously I did find it very interesting.
Yes. maintenance. I actually tried to sneak in there once during halloweekends when the door was open and workers were fixing stuff in there. All I wanted to do was see "how stuff works" and yes, that machine in there is sooo big, the workers were climbing all over it...:)
I stopped by Geauga Lake today. The last few pics show that the kids rides that were sitting in the back of the park, are all gone now. I'm presuming their ar Cedar Point now.

I find it interesting how Thunderhawk is still coming down at GL and it is already about to come up at MiA. It really isn't that interesting, but it was to me for about a second. :)

I dunno that it's about to come up just yet. I don't see any footings poured yet. So, I think there's still several weeks before we see any vertical steel going up.

WeatherAll PAINT!
Definitely a 25-year solution!

That paint is for houses and stuff like that. Houses dont have 5 ton trains going 70mph on them. I dont think the paint would do good on coaster track.
Let's Get Weird.
They should really take those nice looking street lanterns around Geauga Lake's entrance (as seen in this picture) and replace the ones down Cedar Point's main midway that look like they are from my high school that was built in the 70's. Why let them go to waste? *** Edited 11/11/2007 5:20:08 PM UTC by airee85***

I hope you're not talking about the original 1920s (approx.) light fixtures along the midway at the marina entrance? That would make about as much sense as when they covered up the Pan statue with the Live E. sign for a few weeks. Thankfully, they moved it after a little bit. If you never got to see that horrible idea of placement, you can still see where the footings for the sign were. I guess my point is, please leave the marina midway alone.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
I think he was talking about the retro ones on the main midway. You can see them quite clearly on the main midway cam.
Okay, well in that case, go ahead and replace them. I don't think they look great, but I also don't think they look horrible either. I guess after seeing them for so long I just don't notice that they're even there.

If you want to see something tacky, you must look the other way.
