I ran into a problem with this since my school is almost exactly four hours from the park and I don't have a car to get me there. It just wasn't going to happen so I sacrificed my bonus and processed out for education reasons.
The sad part is they do this to so many people and for some reason they still come back, so CP continues to get away with it.

That's where you have to be firm about your contract dates. If I make it into Live E, I'll be a little more flexible, but still, I won't be driving back 4 hours after I process out. I made sure they knew I wouldn't be coming back for weekends this past summer, and that they weren't going to get me to.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Every year that I have worked at the Point I have taken one to two weeks off for traveling. Just as long as you tell them in your early you will be fine. I'm sure that I'll be taking a week off to hit some parks in PA.

Thats all there is too it, tell them way before the season starts and there should be no problems. Try to keep a constant line of communication with them up until you process in, espeically if it is your first summer.

Im sure excited for next season to start. This first year there was hard for me at first, but i'm glad i stuck through with it. Working at CP was one of the most rewarding experiences for me. If i could work weekends during October I would, but being 12 hours away makes that impossible.

I might try CP next year but I might stay at whats left of GL in retail. Knowing my luck if I went to CP I would get stuck with all the new kids rides that I FINALLY escaped from after this season.
That's where I'd be if I decide to return from what I was told, but i'm sure the person was (better of been) joking.

Make sure to get everything in writing as well. If, during the summer, they approve time off, make sure it is written down on something for you to reference. Sometimes the managers get so busy that they don't remember approving some time off...this happened to me. Also, if you are not sure if you can work any Halloweekends at the time of your interview, but think you might be able to work some, tell them you can't work any right off the bat. It's always better to try to add weekends rather than get them off.

I have a question off topic. I worked at cedar point in 2007 and I processed out aug. 13 (completed my contract) and I was wondering if I should have received my bonus check in the mail. Thanks
I would say yes, if you were eligible, you should have received it by now. I processed out August 14 and received my bonus around the first week of September. Did you have direct deposit? If you did, it would have simply been deposited into your account.

well we all know I was the better TL of Kidworks...
My signature was edited because it was more than three lines. I'm naughty!
Nothing has been deposited in my account. I did have direct deposit. Who should I call about this since it is the off season?
I'd call human resources and if you don't get through to them call your department.

We'll have to shut Zone 1 down for a few days and take a zone-wide trip down to Hard Rock to visit. ;)
