155 days till Halloweekends!

I think Fear Faire is CP's scariest walkthrough. On a good night with low wind the visibility is almsot nothing and with the maze like format its very disorientating. Out of all the haunted stuff, FF scares me the most.

I'm so excited! I'm buying my train ticket to move to Sandusky in just a couple hours! I'll be working in Terror Island and in the parade (and a cashier for a few weeks before) and can't wait! I'm counting down the days too :-)

I'm hoping this is Fear Faire's last year.

You can rest assured it will be better as we retained a lot more people, like me.

The zone will have a better ratio of vets to noobs! Plus the path is getting refined some more (I think) so it should be narrower. Plus a better effort to actually let guests know where the zone is will be made to help fill the zone up a little more!

Ouch! Just because we're new to HalloWeekends doesn't mean the new people aren't any good! Some of us know what we're doing ;-)

well that's part of the reason why there is the scare school training. We want to close the gap between veterans (be it vets of halloweekends, or haunts owned by other people) and the people that are coming in fresh completely new to the game. Many have a good starting point, but with a little coaching and help they can be just as good, if not better than some of the older monsters we have.

fear faire has had some problems in the past but people are aware of them and there are efforts to fix those problems.

I'm glad Fear Faire has finally started retaining some veterans who are excited about the zone. That'll go further than anything in terms of making it a better zone.

Of course, Terror Island will still be where it's at this year. ;)

^I agree, I started out ok because of Scare School but got much better as the season went on! Seems like lots of the people like to switch to other zones is all I meant, but a revolution (Medievalalution?) has started though which is a good thing.

CP4ever, obviously I know that, I was new last year lol

On a side note, why do all the Screamsters seem to be up at odd hours? We are weird people but I have to laugh at it a bit.

lol I'm just giving you a hard time :-) I'm looking forward to scare school-thats half the fun! I think its a blast having the challenge of always getting a new and better scare!

some vets even ones doing it for 18 years plus, will say they still havent gotten it right. We continue to try new things and to evolve as much as we can. If you dont believe me just ask some of the fz vets about suzanne serandin(sp) especially josh88

I'm curious how they've been doing it for 18 years when Halloweekends only started in 97. I'm sure some other area park (KI possibly) started a fall event before CP did, is that where some of them started and then moved to CP?

Goodbye MrScott

John

I heard from my friend that CARNEVIL will change to ERIE ESTATES. It will be mostly like Carnevil. That if she and her husband told me right.

Different haunted attractions many of which are no longer in operation. The people Im refering to I believed worked at a place called the terror trail near cleveland and a few other places. My point was that even if you have been doing this (scaring) for as long as they have you still need to try new things because one thing doesnt work for everyone.

BTW if you want to check out a very very detailed haunted house on your way to KI, I would recomend dents school house. Its a very well run privately owned haunt in which many of my friends work at.

um... no.

Carnevil is going to stay carnevil and there is already a haunted house called Erie Estates, its the old finance building near the employee caf/skyride.

and yes as CP/PKI said, nobody has been doing it 18 years AT cedar point but, some of the vets have that much experience. To borrow a phrase for many of us, this isn't our first rodeo.... but I know that I learn new things and try new things every year, for example last year I learned that little orphan annie is scary. It's all about trying new approaches, to keep it fresh for yourself as well as guests, and to give yourself a bigger arsenal of tools.

I agree! If I saw them walking around, I'd run and scream for sure!

I'd love to sit in on a scare school seminar or something of the sort. I just started sponsoring a haunted house at the high school I work at and am always looking for new ideas and tactics.

Not sure if it's been mentiond yet, but there is a sign in front of U.R.DADE haunt that states they are working on a new attraction for halloweekends. This is not the sign that has been on the building, but rather a sign on the ground in front of the ride.

I will try to post a picture.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Every year, I am more and more impressed with Halloweekends. Last year I was amazed by the offerring compared to years past, this year sounds like it will be even more exciting.
