12E....hmmm?

Any one know any of the other rides Eric designed?

I guess this kills the hidden 12E stuff that was discussed before (like the Hidden Mickys at disney).

On another note. The blog looks like it will give some nice backgrounds of how some of the rides work. I am not sure of the posting of comments though. I submitted one on the DT blog. I am not sure if it will be answered. Basically asking if CP will ever retheme, fix the ciurent theme or turn DT back to AR. I am not sure that old Tony and Tyler like thoose types of questions, but I will keep submitting them.

It seems like the CP blog only allows certain "safe" questions/responses to be posted and answered.

The Amazement Park

I know some are actually sent in but I'm sure some people are made up and the questions are asked to steer into different topics.

"I'm sure"?

I wouldn't be to "sure" about that.

I'm not sure they're made up. I'm positive a lot are not let through. You'll have to remember that they still have a lot of things they can't talk about or have to OK with higher managers first. They're just the PR guys, and they're the ones who make things creative.

That is what I figured on, a couple of poster guys. I guess we will have to keep the questions here for a fair and balanced outlook on things. I still forward the questions though, even thought they willl apply the Larry King filter. The messages may get some internal attention.

They probably just found out this morning from mgmt what the 12E means.

Oh well.

They're not total poster guys. They've been cleared to discuss many aspects of the park, I'm just sure they've been told not to tell what the new ride is, or what those markings in Frontiertown are(if anything), and that cedar point is secretly going to buy Six Flags Great Adventure and move all the good rides here, demolish the rest and turn it into a trash dump.

Bingo on what MrHolcomb said.

LOL. Get all the B&M's. Bring Superman (Flyer) and Medusa to CP. Send Nitro to GL and scrap the rest.

But on Tony and Tyler, I do not mean to be hard on them. I know they are under the gun for what they respond to and post. I work in a mgmt position for public corp and have information about projects up to FY09 and I need to keep this hushed up, as hard as it is. I feel their pain.

Tony and Tyler are doing a good job by keeping things interesting.

This offseason should be fun. The blog very good in my eyes.

Like others said, of course OnPoint! is designed to create a 'buzz' about Cedar Point -- it's the "Official Blog of Cedar Point -- your inside look behind the midways." To brush it off as a "marketing ploy" is not sensible for a few reasons.

First, virtually every entry has been aligned with the blog's purpose: to pass on interesting information about Cedar Point to the public that otherwise wouldn't be available.

Second, even if it IS a marketing ploy, that shouldn't make much of a difference to anyone living in the 21st century. What today ISN'T some form of advertising? Considering it is a part of the Cedar Point website, it's hard to imagine it any other way.

And as for people who are concerned that some questions are not answered, or are not posted for various reasons. . .well, that is just a part of the media. Do not forget that there really are TWO GUYS behind this -- Tony and Tyler. THEY are (really!) the ones who read all of your comments and questions. They do not have a staff to read the questions for them. They also have full-time jobs, and are just beginning to devote time to the Blog.

This is the "Official" blog for Cedar Point, so of course it is going to be made nice-looking. I wouldn't want to read 1,000 comments about a mark on pavement or the status of Magnum (if I wanted that I would just look at pointbuzz ;) )

If you are not happy with the way OnPoint is going, then. . .just wait a bit. It's in its beginning stages. It's new to you, and it's new to Cedar Point. And we (as Cedar Point fans) are certainly not any worse for it.

A "marketing ploy" is a little too strong. Part of the reason it was created was to be a "marketing tool". Of that, I'm convinced.

It's the best addition to the official site in years, IMO.
