Yeah, it's more than likely what was removed from the footers in Area 51. Those were dug in the off season...

Well there was a little more clearing happeing in the last few days, nothing major, but it looks like its in the shape of a turn. The dirt for the footers are on the island, the dirt next to ID is from them clearing the trees and making a path or something.

A path? Hhhmm... I'll try to get some pics when i'm in the park on Monday.

Most of the dirt by the iron Dragon has been there for more than a few years. There are dirt walkways that are paths through the woods for maintenance & construction. There is a bridge that swings into place between the Mantis and the Snake River Falls, to drive from the Frontier Trail to the island, just at the edge of the boneyard. All I could see in the boneyard were flat square steel pices, almost like wooden shipping pallets. (Maybe concrete forms?) The sky-lift cars are sky-blue, and are not the Frontier Lift Cars. Those are on the existing Sky-Lift, repainted. These blue ones have open fronts for your feet to hang out, they look very "60's/Jetsons." I don't remember this ever being at Cedar Point(?) I did see what looked like part of the old Frontier Lift towers. I'll get a better look tomorrow or Monday.

I think there are pictures of the old Sky Ride cars like that. I have seen them too, but they look so old, just like they wont use them again.

RIDE IT OUT!

I was watching the PT cam and there was a white thing in the clear area, I haven't seen it there before, and when I looked again it was gone. I think it was either a machine or a cement truck.

The sky-ride cars in the bone yard are from Knott's right? Why would CP bother storing them if they're not going to use them? And, looking old doesn't matter. Just scrub-down and repaint them.

When I said they were "60's-Jetson-like" I meant that they were totally cool. I appreciate the old school.

I'm pretty sure it was Dorney, not Knott's, that those sky ride cars originated from.

And as for my problem w/ the grammar/spelling post people... it's not really with the people who bothered to post in correcting someone's error.. my problem is with the people who felt it entirely on-topic and useful to tell me what their grammar pet peeves are. Really, people, I don't give a monkey's behind!

Does anybody know why the 2 trees were removed by Magnum?

And yes, the sky ride cars came from Dorney and have been set aside for possible future use. --whether or not it is in CP or for another park.

It probably has to with the same reason a cement truck was by ID and now there is a light in the clearing. I think there getting the ground ready for the coaster, pouring footers or something and clearing out trees. It might not be a coaster but with all this happening right by the footers it makes you wonder.

I think there is night work going on next to ID. I see once in a while a light appear then next minute its gone.

The piles of dirt by Iron Dragon are definitely new dirt. There is also a big pile or two of brush which really isn't too out of the ordinary.

How extensive is this new "clearing"? Anyone have any pictures of it, or is it really no big deal? I have a feeling we are going to get some more clues soon... at least I hope so!

Well its good enough for a turn. I have seen a white cement truck down there, other people also seen cement trucks down there. Its on webcam, look behind ID.
