Just to the right of Mantis and above ID there is a clearing in the trees that wasn't there until a few months ago. If you look you will see equipment in it.

Jeff, I am glad you said that. I know I am not getting any younger but I couldn't see a thing in those photos. You could tell me Sasquatch was in there and I wouldn't know any better.

I see it...Its that Brown spot in the middle of all those trees...After the ID...to the right of the Mantis...and a lower than the MF. You coudl clearly see the Equipment and clearing

Yeah, when you know where you are looking, you can see the equipment. I've now added another picture to the album that has the light shining just right so that the clearing is clearly visible and you can tell that it bends. There isn't any equipment in this picture.

Good one CP Jigga but the funny thing was, when I first went to the site that had the pix I couldn't find the "site" in ? till I stopped and Actually looked.

Ok, I apologize. I went onto the CP Site and looked at a picture from today's web cam. I now see the "cleared" area in question and I will agree that it is an area that wasn't cleared a few months ago.

What it means, I have no idea.

Speculation: I think it is that maybe CP will have a Large something (coaster) go from area 51 to that new plot of land and then maybe somewhere else.

Watch that area at night there will be a light in the clearing and 2 will appear around it, then around 11:15, the lights disappear . They reappear by Mantis which through the night only had 2 lights, but now has 6 and 3 major ones that are bright enough to light up some of Mantis.

Maybe CP is going to Build 2 coasters in 2 years because it feels threatened by Magic mountain...That it got up to the Record.

Oh man, do I even respond to that? A park 2,500 miles away is threatening Cedar Point? Whatever.

MM can't even keep half their rides open in one given day... some how I don't think CP is really shaking-in-their-boots.

It is nice to have bragging rights for most coasters without false advertising, but I doubt that CP would spend $10+ million dollars to get that.

First, I'd be laughing at Petree's comment about SFMM's inability to run 7 coasters per day, let alone 15. Unfortunately, I can't laugh. It is true.

At any rate, I don't think that two new coasters would be out of the question. It certainly isn't unprecedented. Hell, WoA got 4 when it was SFOhio (and running correctly.)

But I got to thinking: that cleared area looks amazingly small as compared to the size of Mantis' layout, and I consider Mantis to be on a conservative plot of land.

Best guess? Coaster & flat ride combo. This isn't SFGAm. It isn't going to be as easy to 'guess the ride.' :)

My friend visited the park yesterday and I told him to ask about a new ride for next year. He did, and so did my other friends who went with him (I would have gone but I was busy, sadly). So, after a ride on Gemini, he asked one of the ride ops "I noticed the construction going on behind the fence, what is going to be built there?" The ride op said "i cant say much, except that it will be a big one"

Now thats not exactly how the conversation went, but you get the idea.

I-Nar, that clearing may be small now, but what's to say it would get bigger? I mean, they haven't even announced anything on it yet! They aren't going to start large-scaled construction until they announce it. It keeps getting better and better.

I don't think the clearing is going to get bigger. It has always been there. It is a path that goes right by that big turn on Millennium Force. haha ;)
