In my opinion, it all comes down to the leadership of that specific location and how they train their crew. This generation of CP ride ops just don’t seem to care about numbers like they used to.

Agree and disagree on this. It does fall heavily on the leadership of the location, but saying we don't care about numbers is a bit of a stretch.

Agree to disagree then is the correct statment. Current Cedar Point compared to CP 2008-2011 (considering these were years I was involved with the park during the Kinzel era) are NOTHING compared to this current low motivated ride op mind set of getting high capacity. And that is an absolute fact.

Quite frankly, there seems to have been a de-emphasis on throughput and an increased emphasis on stupid things like double checking, scanning, standing way far away from the train, standing on dots not pairing up singles, no one's clear until everyone's clear, etc. I blame IROC as much as the employees. I've actually been impressed by the majority of employees this season. They can't help following bad procedures put in place by people who don't have a clue. It just doesn't seem as fun to work there as it used to be due to some of this nonsense.

^ this! Thanks you for understanding. Like I said before, IROC is partial blame. But the motivation to keep the line moving is just not there for a lot of rides. Power tower being one of them. My crew used to have those cars dispatched in 1:30 or less on a busy day.

Is every crew lazy and don’t care about numbers. Absolutely not. But is that motivation still there? Absolutely not

For what its worth, this past Sunday, the Skyhawk crew was really hustling. I was very impressed at how fast they were moving.

As a general overall observation, the rides don't have the same throughput as they used to. Look at Gemini. It used to run six trains, have people entering at both ends of the station, and the crew stationed at the entrances to the station had to ensure people kept moving into the station or there wouldn't be enough people to fill the trains.

Its sad to see ride capacity being cut like that. But when rides lose popularity altogether, 6 trains on a ride like Gemini is darn near unnecessary.

Does anybody know what's up with Millenium Force? According to the app it hasn't run at all today?

We walked past around 9:30 and it was closed. I saw it run when we were in line for Dragster but when we got back around it was still closed or closed again, still closed when we left around 2:45.

In the defunct attractions department there is a new sign on Cedar Point Rd. after you have turned off Cleveland Rd just where the exit and entrance lanes split. They are no longer simply trying to imply they would like us to go in the front. It actually says "No Cedar Point traffic" now. It looked like the toll booth was still manned when I entered the parking lot from the causeway but I couldn't tell for sure. The cones were set up exactly as they are any other day.

I used it today. The toll attendant didn't say anything. If it's a public road, all they can do is turn you away at the entrance to the park. The road is terrible and the traffic will make it worse.

It's not a public road, it's private just like the causeway. It took a real beating from the storms this past winter it was nothing like this last year and a lot of the rock wall was lost. You never used to be able to see so much of the lake. I was trying to make early entry and didn't want to test whether or not I would get turned away that particular morning.

^^ Well I'm all worked up over what Coasterkyle said. He said the numbers were down and it had me upset a little. Sorry I have A.D.D so when someone says something like that, I get a little worked up over it.

So if you have ATTENTION DEFICIT DISORDER wouldn’t that also mean you move on to the next thing pretty quick? Kinda like when Shoot the Rapids went away you latched onto Rougarou immediately?

Yes. However, I'm trying to help Cedar Point out so they don't remove another ride I like. I believe Rougarou has a lot potential to it and they shouldn't remove it so fast.

when i worked at cp at thunder canyon in 87, gemini with 6 trains had a capacity of over 3000/hr...at thunder canyon we could hit almost that with the 22 rafts we ran back then. capacity was a big deal then

That is stunning. So you were able to infect people with “bacteria and filth” at a rate of nearly 3000/hour? Those are numbers Chipotle could only dream of.
