What do you think about souvenir cups?

Nowhere is it explicitly written that I am allowed to use the toilets at Cedar Point, yet I always do.

Put your junk away. No one wants to see it.

I agree, that any expectation that a cup you bought at one park is good at another is pretty ridiculous. Why would you feel entitled to this?

Girls, you're both pretty. Momma loves you both the same.

Well, more or less the same. Mostly.

On Kings Island opening day last year I saw several people bring their souvenir cups from the year prior and then get upset because they were denied the refill. Why anyone would assume that the deal carried over to future seasons was beyond me.

Mythical terms of sale would be better than mythical personal insults that simply do not exist in any of my previous posts.

Jeff - I never once stated that I felt I was entitled to anything and to the contrary stated that I could really care less if the cups are not refillable at any park.

Amazing the responses and discussion that ensues from answering a simple question. I loves me some internet!

Umm, because my Platinum Pass is good at different parks than the one I bought it at? Same with Six Flags passes.

And it's not "entitled," it's "What is CF offering in exchange for the price of the cup." Or, if you prefer, "How much $$$ does CF think they're entitled to in exchange for a cup"

So your pass transaction is totally related to your cup transaction? Yeah, not seeing it.

They sell 2 different season dining plan options. One that's only good at your home park and one that's good at any park in the chain. They don't sell different tiers of cup options.

They should have something like the collapsible cup linked below. This goes flat enough to easily fit in cargo pockets.

Where do you put what's in the cup?

In you, in a bush, down a drain, take your pick.

Yeah, obviously you will need to drink what is in the cup before folding it up coasterblu.

Well, they do collapse while they are full but things might get sticky depending upon what was in it.

Did anyone notice that on the Cedar Point site it says that you pay only $0.99 ($1.99 for Coke Freestyle locations) for each refill when you visit again? I have been using the souvenir cup this year and have only been charged the $0.99 thus far.

As of June 5th, Freestyle locations advertise the same $0.99 refills as any other location..

The cups work nicely when you are there with a family and have non riders or a stroller/wagon to hold them. I've said for a while though that I'd pay up to about $8 for an all day drink wristband to avoid using the cup. They offer that for groups (Coastermania, Ohio State, etc), but I don't think it's generally available unless you get a ride/refresh ticket.

I love the souvenir cups, my only beef with them is they melt in the slightest of hot water. The old souvenir cups they used to have (windseeker cups were the last of the old style) were made better, thicker plastic, and were bigger (not that the size matters with free refills). They also didnt melt in hot water, and used to be washable in dish washers.

Yuck! I wonder how much plastic is leaching, they say not to reuse water bottles, especially if it gets hot. Probably not even good to use health wise for a whole season.

We did the Ride and Refresh package last month. It was great having the wristband and not having to carry the cup around all day.

Someone on another forum asked Kings Island if the cups could be refilled at other Cedar Fair parks. The official response was "yes".
