There are no seat belts on STR.

Oops. meant to say restraints. When the poorly designed boat flipped trapping people they were stuck in their seats underwater. CP is so extremely lucky that this happened in an easily visible spot where people were able to jump and take quick action. Can you imagine if the boat had flipped out on the island where it may have been a lot longer for people anyone to notice let alone take action?

I have never ridden STR. It has always been a "MEH" looking ride to me and people come off drenched.

Am I really the only one who goes on it and is lucky to get sprayed by more than a few drops? I either have the worst luck at trying to get wet (considering I rarely seem to get hit by water falls on Thunder Canyon) or my definition of wet (getting off of SRF) is different than every one else's.

Let us know if it is running Shawn, I love fearing for my life going up a lift hill.

😉

I talked to Shawn over text messages today and he said it was testing and will not open today.

The boat didn't capsize because of poor design. From what I understand it was just partially on its side from rolling back on the lift and hitting the curve, people were not trapped under water.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

That sounds like something an engineer would say, or someone who was actually there and saw it.

Most likely they had to wait for the ride to be certified before accepting riders. That's dependent on when the inspector is available.

Rode it Tuesday. A lot of fun. The landing of both hills is better than your typical log flume ride but that is not where you get too wet. It is between the rocks where they have waterfalls and the left side of the boat gets soaked. I don't remember that from last year.

So last Friday, I rode Shoot the Rapids for the first time in 2015. I know, no surprise there...lol. I also was able to meet Sam, who is working the ride this spring/summer. Obviously he couldn't talk too much, but he had an Idea of who I was because I kept cheering out loud, YEAH SHOOT THE RAPIDS! Lol!

I rode it with Shawn on Friday as well and said hi to Sam. I don't normally go on water rides because I don't like getting wet, but it was fairly warm Friday afternoon so I caved.
