I interviewed a guy who was a maintenance guy at CP. He repaired the coasters when they broke down. Pretty cool guy

A friend of mine was there yesterday and said GK was down all day and she thinks MF was down all day (or most of it) also, which, combined with the cooler temps keeping folks out of Soak City and off the water rides, contributed to the lines for everything else being pretty long. She said they waited over a half hour for Iron Dragon, and also that Gemini was down for a bit as well.

So, 1) broken lift motor, 2) cracked track. Let's add a few more. How about 3) seagull nest.

I really hope the cracked track is bad information. That would not be good at all...

I am not certain that JB Weld alone could fix it. It would most likely need some structural caulk on top of the JB Weld and then some duct tape wrapped around it for weather resistance.

GateKeeper is starting to awaken from her slumber:

Gatekeeper lift chain is starting to run and is obnoxiously loud right now.

You can hear it from sandcastle suites. Had to walk down boardwalk to hear what it was.

Wonder why the lift is so loud. Sounds like that was the problem, though..

It's somewhat quieter now. But you can hear it from far away

MF was down a couple times yesterday. But for most of the day it was running. I got 3 rides, and even with FL I wated about 40 minuets each time. When MF was down everyone flocked to Maverick, and the line was extremely long. There was also an issue with Mantis yesterday. We had an evac on the final brake run, which was pretty cool. They brought in maintenance before we evacuated. Whatever the issue was, Mantis wasn't down for very long.

It was up and running tonight!!! Ran into people complaining about it being down as we were buying guest passes today. Apparently they were only here for 3 days and specifically to ride the gatekeeper. It seemed like they were getting something discounted but perhaps I was wrong. Anyhow, hopefully they stuck around long enough to get a ride in this evening.

It has to be expected that a ride or 2 will be down during some or all of a trip to any amusement/theme park. Unfortunately that is just the way things work (or don't work in the case of GK).

Saying that they only went to CP for 3 days just to ride GK is ridiculous... Then again with GK down I guess there really isn't a whole lot to do at CP.

^Yup, those poor people! They don't know that there is 16 other famous and record-breaking rollercoasters to try when they are there!

Not many record breakers currently. Once upon a time, however...

I believe there are 4 rollercoasters that were not record breakers when they opened.
Blue Streak
CCMR
Iron Dragon
Woodstock Express

(Wilderness Run was the first Intamin so I count that as record breaking)

Someone correct me if I'm wrong...
