Um, I don't think you're aware of Grand Rapids and Thunderhawk then.

GR isn't a coaster, and Thunderhawk isn't a "shiny new coaster" but a leftover (albeit a good one) from Geauga Lake.

I have been on most of the slc coasters in america and canada, and I do have to say that tunderhawk is the best. There is hardley any head banging and the ride is smooth.

I liked Thunderhawk - granted, B & M SLCs are far more superior. I happen to think Raptor is top five at CP. But, I digress - there aren't many coasters against which I discriminate :)

^^To be technical, Raptor is a B&M invert, there's no such thing as a B&M SLC. SLC stands for "suspended looping coaster" and is a design solely used by Vekoma.

Exactly, Walt. I understand that the park needs family-friendly rides as well. But if it was Ice's Amusement Park it would consist of one record-breaking coaster after another with Happy Friar in the middle, free super-sized cups of water and a $5 footlong Subway. : )

@RaceRinger - sorry, my bad. But, for all intents and purposes, they are basically the same thing, just the track layout and seating are different.

If it is a Flume as many people are saying it could be. The name Whyte Lightning just doesn't go well. I mean when I think of Lightning I think of something fast and a flume doesn't come to mind when you think of fast.

Or maybe it's just me.

^Jugga, SLC's don't swing out, they're rigidly connected to the track, as well.

The new ride doesn't just revolve around coaser enthusiasts. You can't just get a new coaster every year. I will be happy if we get a flume, because it will be family friendly and I love flumes. I am a water ride fan and I love the rides that can be refreshing and not get you drenched at the same time. A flume is a perfect ride for CP and is just what they need.

Cedar Point doesn't have an SLC. Corkscrew is a Vekoma, and Raptor is a B&M.

CCI? Does it choke away important playoff games?

I get the same headache from Corkscrew as any Vekoma I've been on, so that's plausible.
