Check out this photo from 2007 I took! Perhaps CP purposely put the name there.

The photo is taken along the train very close to MF island and the water.

(sorry if this has already been posted)

Actually, as was discussed back somewhere around page 80 or 90, "White Lightning" is a colloquial term for Moonshine. Since that is the scene with the still, there really isn't anything to read into it.

^^First of all, this is a "thread," not a "post." And also, who cares?

The pic from 2007 is interesting though. Maybe that barrel is what sparked the idea for that name..

I notice that the Whyte Lightning logo doesn't include the TM (Pending) or R (registered) trademark symbols. I did a quick search on the US Trademark site and wasn't able to find anything related to Whyte Lightning. If you search for "Cedar Fair" you will find trademark registrations for nearly all of the rides at their parks. So, if Whyte Lightning is the actual name for a new ride then I would expect it to be listed on the US Trademark site soon.

I find it interesting how Cedar Point and Carowinds' White/Whyte Lightning rides are similarly named, but have (what seems to be) completely different themes. Western and NASCAR........wow what a difference :-|

I also find it odd how there is nothing AT ALL on the homepage of Cedar Point's website mentioning the new ride. Unless you've heard the rumors about it or checked out the CP blog, you really can't tell they are getting a new ride. Anyone else notice this?

Well now its looking like Carowinds is getting an Intimidator name likeKings Dominion. If you type http://intimidator.carowinds.com/ a log incomes up. Its the same forhttp://intimidator.carowinds.com/public/ride/ and many others.
I dont know why they would have both whitelightning.carowinds.com and this.

sorry. didn't mean to sound "snooty." or is it snotty? whatever. either way just trying to get things back on track.

And Lasagna, it's not uncommon for amusement parks to do that. Instead of doing web site updates both before and after the announcement, they just update it when the announcement is made.

Could Whyte Lightning actually be some fresh brewed Rootbeer from a new resturant?

Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.
